Beautiful old home with historic connections to the famed Jack Daniel family. Comfortable, roomy room with all the amenities.

Karen, the hostess, is lovely and made me feel right at home.

I stayed in the Ethyl room - filled with antiques and a beautiful pink and green motif. Quiet, comfortable.

It was my husband and myself's first time staying at a b&b and it was an excellent one. The location and house were charming, very comfortable accomodations, but what made the visit special were the owners. Told wonderful stories of the history of the house, town, and distillary. We are definitely staying here again on our next trip.

We are just back from a visit to the states. My husband is a major fan of Jack Daniel's so I did my research and found Tolley House. We had a fantastic time. We arrived late at night and were shattered after a long trip which Karen totally seen and gave us the basic info and let us get to our beds as we were desperate. The room was lovely, very spacious, clean and had wee bits of JD related memorabilia dotted around. The curtains were black out, comfy bed and the shower good (important to me!) but there was also the added bonus of the big windows on 2 sides of the room - lots of birds and squirrels to see :) Karen also told us they get Deer in from time to time. We had a nice breakfast the 1st morning and Karen gave my husband advice on where to get collector bottles of JD - helpful. On the 2nd morning Karen cooked a tasty full American breakfast and we sat down with her and her husband who both kept us entertained with stories of Lynchburg and JD passed through her father (retired master distiller). It absolutely added to the JD experience for us both and soooo glad we stayed at Tolley House - thoroughly recommended! It wasn't easy to get the website from the uk but key in Tolley House Lynchburg TN and you'll get it from there. Also Mary Bobo's is worth a visit for lunch but book ahead (via Facebook).

My husband and I stayed at the Tolley House on Feb 15th, 2013. This is a gem in the rough, from the moment Karen met us on the porch until we left we felt just like we belonged there. This place is so charming and welcoming you cant help but be in awe of the place. Karen and Frank made us feel like we had known them for years and the history of the home is amazing. Mr. Bobo was full of stories from the early days of Jack Daniel and we cannot wait to come back and visit again! We are planning a trip to bring our family with us next time to share some wonderful memories together!
Dont miss this opportunity for a great place, great people and awesome food:)

We had a nice stay at the Tolley House. We came for the 2013 Jack Daniels BBQ contest. Our room the Mr Lem, had a very comfortable queen bed. The room is very spacious and has large windows on two sides. The bathroom is kind of small and pretty much suited for one person at a time. The bathroom has a standup shower. Breakfast buring the week is generally fresh fruit and a carb. I found this part disappointing. I like a full breakfast every morning of my stay, not just on the weekends, The full breakfast usually gets me thru lunch and helps me justify paying the nearly $200 a nite!
The reason we chose the Tolley House was because it was in Lynchburg but what we found ourselves doing was going to Tullahoma to eat every nite and then driving back. Lynchburg pretty much rolls up the sidewalks at dusk!

Room Tip: Only 2 rooms here and both are nice. Mr Lem has a smaller bathroom.

Two rooms are used for the B&B. We were in Miss Ethel's room, which has a pink tiled bathroom and just the things in there that an older woman might have, like lady head vases - remember those? Usually, I'm a minimalist and don't stay in B&B's because I can't stand the ruffles and chintz, but here there were no ruffles and chintz and the Miss Ethel bits seemed to just add charm. The room was very large and comfortable (good thing there was a step stool to help me climb into the bed). If you like to watch TV, this isn't the place for you (There is a small TV in the room.) We sat on the porch in the rockers and sipped the Gentleman Jack we bought at the distillery.

Coffee, ice, cookies and water were available all the time in the hallway just outside the room, which was great since I got up at 5 a.m. and drank coffee and read in the quiet of the house and went back to bed.

Frank and Karen are very gracious. They sat down to Sunday morning breakfast with us (yummy) and told us all about the history of the area and their connection to it.

Room Tip: Ms. Ethel's room is cozy and ladylike ( and has a tub in the large, pink-tiled bathroom). If you...

We stayed at this lovely home last week and throughly enjoyed. This place alone, is worth a trip to Lynchburg. We definitely want to visit again. We visited during the week and only had a chance to meet Karen. She is most hospitable and charming, assuring us we should make ourselves at home. Karen also gave us a great history recount. We had a private intrance which was very nice. Our room was "Mr. Lem's Room" ; clean, comfortable, roomy, so different from a hotel room. We have stayed in many B&Bs, this one is in the top 5. Every detail was covered. Our breakfast was absolutely delicious, even the coffee was outstanding.
We will recommend this place to our pickiest of friends.
