“A small down that exudes history and culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

When one enters High Street in Falkland the beauty of the houses is striking. Farther along the street one comes to the imposing Falkland Palace which at first seems out of place in such a small village. Just beyond the fountain is the quaint shop of the violin and antiques dealer Bob Beveridge who will take the time to tell the visitor all about the area. After a talk with Bob be sure to visit the Palace for a glimpse of luxury dating back to King Edward. On a side street just in front of the violin shop is a beautiful farm cart with flowers. Next to it is a nice bench placed there by Johnny and Rosanne Cash to memorialize the ancestral home of the Cash family in Scotland. Falkland and the nearby village of Strathmiglo are surrounded by lands which one belonged to the Cash family.

“How we should keep our History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Falkland Palace must be the best kept historical building we have. It is a perfect history lesson to anyone who may be interested. The staff are charming and very patient with story like information that covers a long period of time, which also flies by unnoticed. Weather on our visit was not the best yet the building and gardens were facinating.
Well worth a visit.

“Went as a school child”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Don't remember much but as a school child this was a good school trip. We got to dress up and an actor did some things with us (maybe only for school groups and special occasions) Really beautiful setting and lovely for a day out to see the palace and gardens. Falkland village itself is lovely for a visit.

“Great guides.. interesting experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

I really enjoyed my time at Falkland Palace. They have cards in each room providing details of the room being visited. Docents were in each room and were very approachable and very willing to answer questions. It was a great day and the garden was lovely.
