5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Have been going to the spindrift on two to three day breaks once or twice a year for a number of years and found it excellent in all respects. Would recommend as a lovely relaxing break or as an excellent stop over on a walking holiday

The Spindrift is a beautiful B&B in the delightful village of Anstruther - a very short drive to St. Andrews. We had a first class room - comfortable king size bed with beautiful linens - overlooking the ocean - breakfasts fantastic - a special hot dish each morning. Dinner was a gastronomic delight!! We would certainly return.

We really enjoyed the lounge area - it had a great selection of whiskey as part of the honor bar.

My wife and I have often visited the East Neuk of Fife but never stayed in Anstruther before. I always look at trip advisor and The Spindrift stood out. We were not disappointed. From Ken's friendly welcome, the lovely room (Captain's), Ken's super breakfasts and Christine's dinner which we partook of on the middle of our 3 night stay, everything was first class.
Big enough to cater for us fussy ones but small enough to give the personal touch. The waiting staff and the cleaners were also lovely, chatty and friendly.
Impressed by the number of returning guests who were staying with us. We will be two of them when we next visit the area.

Room Tip: If you don't mind the stairs, the Captain's room with the wood panelling is a bit special.

This was our second visit to the Spindrift and we were not disappointed. Christine welcomed us when we arrived on the Sunday afternoon and showed us to our first floor room. Spotless and beautifully decorated with all the expected facilities including en-suite. The breakfasts are definately 5-star with a selection to satisfy the most discerning guest. Must mention the delicious rhubarb, best I have tasted in a long time. Although we ate out for dinner each night when we returned we enjoyed the comforts of the lounge before retiring for the night. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. It is ideally located for visiting attractions throughout the area. Thanks again Christine and Ken. We will be back !

What a find! We arrived at 7pm without a booking, tired and hungry and were made most welcome.
Dinner was requested and both Christine and Ken Lawson went out of their way to accommodate us. Well, we had a splendid meal and good company in the lounge afterwards. Considerable effort and money has gone into making this possibly on of the best guest houses you will find. Spotlessly clean, décor all fresh, quality and variety of food excellent, and in every way fully merits the gold 4 star award. There is a homely warmth about this house, no wonder folks keep returning.
This is definitely the place to stay in when visiting the East Neuk of Fife.

My wife and I and a couple of friends have stayed at the Spindrift on several occasions, the most recent of which was last week-end 17 to 19 February. The standards remain impeccable with considerable effort put in by all the staff and the very welcoming Christine and Ken. We usually take DB&B on one night and B&B on the next – looking to go out and about for an evening meal. Problem is, Christine’s evening meals are so nice (and reasonably priced) it’s usually not worth the hastle of trying to find a place (even in February you’d struggle to get a table in most places unless you have pre-booked). Rumour has it that Ken and Christine are thinking of selling up and retiring, so if you want to experience a B&B as it should be, better get there quick.

Room Tip: Front of house rooms get a seas view and are not noisy. Then you could always try the "Captains...
