“Really nice, Great Breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

I will start by saying how friendly and helpfull eve and tony are, always a happy smile and pleasant chat to greet us. I was working nearby and normally arrived back around 8pm which wasn't a problem. The guest house has a nice feel to it, and the bedroom was very spacious for two people with nice comfy beds. The bathroom is seperate from the bedroom but is modern and LARGE with a (great) power shower and a bath seperate. It's located right on the edge of town so everything is within a short walk, the local leisure centre is located just behind too with a pool and gym. There was never a problem with parking my large van right outside the guest house. Breakfast was just fantastic! Full cooked with great produce, the sausages are lovely! Also freshly brewed coffee which is important too :) I would have no problem recommending eildon to colleagues, friends & family as they wouldn't be disappointed, a gem of a place.

Eildon B&B really started our two-week stay in Scotland off on the right note. Eve is the perfect hostess in all respects. We made friends immediately and would recommend this B&B to all. Eve helped us with travel, sightseeing, bus routes, and even treated us to her mother’s black currant jam … now that’s hospitality. Her dogs are clean, well mannered, and added to the charm. The B&B is close to bus stops, banks, pubs, restaurants and anything else you might need. The Indian restaurant, Halimah, was the finest Indian food that we had in all of Scotland and was beautifully presented. It’s a must if you like Indian food. The back garden is a perfect place to end you day and sip a “wee” bit of the malt. We loved it!!

Coming to Edinburgh for the first time after planning on living here for the next 4 years as a student was absolutely daunting, but Eve- who was absolutely wonderful- made sure we knew all the ins and outs of the Lothian bus system, and got back safe to Musselburgh. Musselburgh is an adorable small town. It was quite nice- a wonderful balance of accessibility and quiet, relaxing comfort. Eve also had some wee whippets! They are very quiet and often just stay out of your way, if you so wish, but they can also be wonderful comforts for those away from home!
The breakfasts were also very filling, a very good way to start your day!

Room Tip: There's both an ensuite room and two rooms with a shared bathroom. Choose whichever you prefer...

We stayed here for three nights in January, Eve was extremely friendly and welcoming and her dogs are just gorgeous! Very handy for trips into the city centre, the buses are fantastic - South Yorkshire travel could learn a thing or two from them! Night buses run frequently so no need to fork out for a taxi. Eve was a fountain of information, and always at hand if you needed to check which bus to get where! Our room was warm, cosy and well furnished with lots of interesting wall hangings, paintings etc. Some people may say the decor is a little dated but we loved it! Really felt at home. Huge bathroom with a hot shower which was needed after we were caught in a Scottish rainstorm! We had a fantastic meal out in Musselburgh at the Thai restaurant, great if you're tired after a long day and don't fancy going back into the city. And how could we not mention the breakfasts?! Wow. Cooked from scratch by Eve they were out of this world and kept hunger away well into the late afternoon! Yum. Thanks for a fantastic stay Eve and the gorgeous whippies! x

Stayed for four nights and could have not found a nicer place or more welcoming owners.
Lovely place, excellent food and hospitality. Will find an excuse to return before too long.

Just back home after 5 wonderful days in Edinburgh. Our stay at Eildon B&B was simply perfect! Eve gave us a warm welcome and made us feel right at home. She provided us with all the information we needed for easily reaching the city of Edinburgh with public transports and she also suggested us some places to visit in the nearby.

"Our" "Blue Room", the bathroom and the breakfast room are all clean, tidy and tastefully decorated.

Eve's dogs (four well-behaved and friendly whippets) are simply adorable!

We would reccomend Eildon to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and homely accomodation near Edinburgh
