“Does what it says on the tin”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

Nice building, doorman opened the door for us & almost smiled. Busy, buzzing atmosphere, very clean for a Spoons, surprisingly so! Food was prompt, tasted fine (very much aware it's not a restaurant & basically microwave meals but its convenient.), polite & friendly service. Shame about some of the clientele but it was a Saturday early evening...
All in all, not bad, cheap & cheerful! :)

“An upmarket yet comfy pub with amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

The staff are attentive in this old style cinema building which has been tastefully converted. The menu is great - and the food is served piping hot - always with a smile. Definitely worth visiting - then returning for more

“Nice burgers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Went with my partner, we ordered nacho's and although we ate them we have had better. They were quite dry. I ordered noodles and they looked and tasted as if they had been lying for a long time. My partner bought a burger which he really enjoyed. Service was good.

“Good value, great decor.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Called in for a light lunch. Large selection and affordable prices. First visit and found that it was very busy, usually a good sign. The service was prompt considering it was busy and our lunch was excellent. A big plus was the decor which was art deco reflecting the buildings previous use as a cinema. Also worth a visit to the toilets upstairs. The stair well and the toilets also had items reflecting the history of the building. I will certainly call again. It is not a la carte dining but does not purport to be.

“I coud have been very ill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

I asked if a dish on the menu was gluten free to be told yes.. It arrived with gravy and two large Yorkshire puddings.. The staff didn't seem to have the foggiest what coeliacs is and the importance of food being free from gluten..

That said, another staff member seemed to cotton on to what was happening took charge and I was finally served a meal which didn't cause me to be very unwell..

It's basic pub grub and I highly doubt any of the 'Chefs' had been inside a catering college ..
