“Wonderful Cosy B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We spent 2 nights at this lovely B & B and had the place to ourselves:) This meant we had the sitting room with real fire which our Grandson Archie Loved. Paul and Mabel could not do enough for us and Archie loved them.
We took our little yorkie with us as well, the rooms are large and comfortable with nice little touches such as tissues and shower gel etc. The house is lovely and welcoming and the Scottish breakfast was excellent!! On arrival, Paul greeted us and we were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely contemporary interior and roaring fire. It's just lovely. In the morning lovely views across the hills and great walks with the dog. You can see the "Ben" as well weather permitting.

We would recommend Ardoch cottage unreservedly only down side was not enough nights:)

Thanks Paul & Mabel have a lovely holiday:)

Kevin, Gloria and Archie we will see you again

Paul and Mabel extended a warm Scottish welcome to us. Their cottage is warm, cosy and relaxed.

We were attending a BUGS dinner at the lovely Ross Priory and chose to stay at Ardoch as the nearest B&B because Ross Priory rooms were all booked.

On arrival, Paul greeted us and we were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely contemporary interior and roaring fire. It's just lovely.

Our room was good too. And in the morning lovely views across the hills.

Breakfast was first class with everything you could possibly want. And more

I recommend Ardoch Cottage unreservedly

My husband and I spent two nights at ARDOCH cottage while on a two-week trip to Scotland. It was one of the great highlights of our trip. The room was comfortable and clean, with the firm beds that we had specifically requested. Mabel's breakfasts were outstanding, made with fresh seasonal local produce. Paul and Mabel could not do enough for us, to the point of providing us with the keys to and a lift to a neighboring church we were interested in visiting. On their tip we also visited the oldest pub in Scotland and had a great atmospheric meal there. The Loch Lomond area is lovely, and even without a car we managed to see and experience a lot. A walk to Ross Priory from the cottage is a must!

We booked Ardoch house for exploring loch lomond, we were made to feel so welcome from the minute we arrived, we travelled on motorbikes with our friends to explore the area, Paul was so helpful with routes to try, and Mabel helped us out with booking a meal in the pub a few miles from Gartocharn, the accommodation is beautifully clean and with views to die for with a very cosy feel, after a cool day biking we came back to a lovely fire lit in the lounge which warmed us up nicely, and the breakfast was amazing too! All in all can't recommend it enough, superb value for money, we shall be returning, thanks Mabel and Paul!!

Communication with Mabel and Paul has been brilliant since we booked, we paid a deposit and rest when we got there. Both could not do enough for you, full of friendly advice and pointers where to go. We stayed for a wedding and it was perfectly located to the Ross Priory. A beautiful setting. The room was spacious with a large bathroom and most importantly a comfy bed!! Breakfast was great and really tasty. We would recommend to others and definitely stay again if we were in the vicinity.

This review is very late, but they weren't listed on tripadvisor when we last stayed there.

My husband and I first stayed at Ardoch Cottage in 2001. We'd intended to stay one night en route for Inverness. However, my husband was unwell and so we delayed our departure to stay another night. Mabel and Paul couldn't do enough to help us, giving us details of how to get the doctors etc. In the end we stayed with them for 4 nights, staying in all three rooms, and once my husband began to feel better, had a lovely stay. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast good and you can't beat Mabel and Paul for hospitality. We returned a year later for two separate stays en route to Northern Scotland and back again, when I was 4 months' pregnant. The following year we stayed with them for a whole week (when my son was 6 months old) and again the following year for another week. In 2006 we stayed again for two separate stays en route to Moray and back again, and in 2008 we stayed for a few nights in a two-centre trip including the Boat House on Bute. So we've returned quite a few times.

The B&B is a extension to an old cottage and has three rooms, a twin downstairs and two doubles upstairs. Downstairs is a guest lounge with a log fire. The location is very close to Loch Lomond but you can get to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling easily, as well as the Trossachs, Argylle and other places such as Oban, Glencoe, Linlithgow, Dunfermline etc.

As others have said, mobile phone connections are dodgy but they have let me use their computer to check in for flights. We've driven up to Scotland from the south of England and flown into Glasgow and hired a car (the B&B is about 20 minutes' drive from Glasgow airport over the Erskine Bridge).

You can't really beat it for value and location - if the weather behaves it's just fantastic and comes highly recommended.

Stayed here for a couple of nights as we were going to a wedding in the nearby Ross Priory, this is as close as you can get without staying at the priory. Really excellent homely welcome, breakfast was fantastic, room was lovely, would recommend to anyone.
