“Hotel Great - Food superb!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Spent a lovely, relaxing two nights in this hotel end of January. The hotel is beautiful with lovely comfortable relaxing seating areas where we were made very welcome. The room was an executive room and it was nice, clean and comfortable. However the heating seemed to be off from early morning until early afternoon which made it very uncomfortable for those of us who got up around 8-8.30 for breakfast - heating was off! When I asked reception about it the heating was restored within 5 minutes! Throughout the public areas in the hotel the heating was on all day and was very comfortable. Other than that the room was fine. We had lunch dinner and breakfast in the hotel and have to say it was absolutely first class, beautifully presented food! Everything was piping hot - including the plates and everything was freshly cooked. Loved it! One of the great assets of this hotel is their staff!! What lovely friendly people. Went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful and we had a lovely walk around the lagoons in New Cummnock. I would certainly recommend this hotel and of course the dinning experience and would happily return again and hopefully heating problem will be solved! Lovely break!

Midweek lunch with my mum in lovely setting looking onto loch.Busy but good service, attentive staff. No gluten free menu but adapted to suit which was impressive.Food beautifully presented. Spa looks lovely and would go for girlie weekend if more entertainment and things to do nearby. Factory outlet good but nothing else around.

Second visit to the hotel and this time used the spa treatments - awesome thanks to Georgie and Stephanie for being so attentive. Fantastic suite made up to a high standard. Good quality bedding and decor and lots of nice touches such as complementary borders biscuits, strathmore bottled water and toiletries. Staff are a credit to the hotel being very friendly and attentive. Being someone who likes to get away regularly this hotel is certainly one of the best I have had the pleasure of using. Will certainly be back again! :-)

We were given an overnight stay for our Christmas from our 2 children and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is out in the country in a beautiful setting by a loch. Unfortunately for us the weather was really bad and we didnt get to see the grounds. The room we were supposed to have was an executive room, but on booking, the hotel was full apart from a standard room. We were offered and up grade if en excecutive room became available, but it didnt and were not offered anything as compensation. In saying that the room was comfortable. The staff were all polite and couldnt do enough for us they were also very attentive. The only down side was the fact that there were two functions on and the hotel was really busy. We had doors banging and running up and down the corridor till well innto the wee small hours. So dont visit when the hotel is busy. All that said we would still return to this hotel.

Room Tip: definately dont go when the hotel is busy

Dear Guest.

We are glad that you had an over all great stay with us. Im sorry to hear about the noise levels at the functions. Unfortunately the events can be rather noisy and we can only apologise for this. Also we are sorry about the weather (we wish we could control that). It is pleasing that you wish to return and we will do everything in our power to make sure that your second stay is even better than the first.

This is my first review on tripadvisor and I had to review this stunning hotel right in the heart of Ayrshire. My friends and I visited once before to attend a wedding and we knew we had to come back. We were booked into a garden suite which was absolutely stunning. Bed was very comfy and the room was spotless. had a great nights sleep after the spa. A big thank you to Jenna. You made our day so relaxing.

After the spa we visited the restaurant. Wow. It looks amazing. It wasn't here the last time we were down so it is an amazing addition to an already beautiful hotel. The views are beautiful from anywhere in the restaurant. The food was to die for. The staff were amazing too. Even though it was busy everyone in there was treated as if they were the only guests there. Another big thank you to Marc who was very professional and made us very welcome.

We will be returning very soon. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Garden Suite
