Popped in for sunday lunch on the 19th January 2014 having eaten many times there before. The pub was RAMMED and I knew I should have booked. HOWEVER - the staff really could not have been more accomodating. We found a small area to have a drink (it really was that rammed) and in 15 minutes they had found a table. The food was (as always) fantastic - I had the roast and my friend had the bream - but it was the staff who really made a difference. We had a drink from the bar - allowed to run a tab, with no need to log a credit card. It's that personal touch that means a lot and they seemed to really care ... no "have a nice day" false bull! The food took a while - if your looking for a rushed lunch then don't bother - but if you want a proper rural English gastro style pub with excellent hosts then go there. I'm back next Sunday and it's becoming my favourite Sunday Lunch treat.
