“Don't go to this pub”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Salmon fishcakes were bland and soggy; stawberry tart the same - I am sure that both were microwaved to reheat and defrost. Coffee was weak and watery. Terrible value for money and wouldn't return.

“Terrible Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Really disappointing afternoon at the Willet Arms. Staff just not interested at all. Restaurant was empty but still had to seek out a member of staff to be shown to our table, service incredibly slow and staff inattentive, had to be prompted to remove empties from the table, although they didn't appear to have much else to do other than stand around yawning. Side orders missing, but still billed for, no apology made when asked to correct. Food was Ok, but overpriced. The sharing dessert was lovely though.

“bordering misdescription”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Went for Sunday Lunch. From start to finish it was a disaster. The drinks , once we got served ( and order corrected) were average, the food portions for the price were very small, the waiting staff disinterested.
We wont be returning

“Not great value, going down hill!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

We have been going to the Willet Arms for years and have seen some ups and downs, we went for Sunday lunch recently and was very disappointed and will struggle to consider returning as there are better eating places in the area now. The so called "famous Sunday platter" was oh so disappointing, for £11.95 each we were promised a lot but unfortunately they under delivered, one plate came out which looked OK but then the waitress explained it was actually for two, so for £24 it appeared to be not so great value at all. Another of our party had the standard roast which was actually a larger portion after we had split up the platter. I am not a massive fan of the Toby Carvery but to be fair we could have gone there twice and had twice as much each time for the same price as one visit to the Willet Arms. It would probably explain why it was almost empty at 2pm on a bank holiday Sunday, your going down hill guys so wake up and smell the coffee, oh and by the way your latte coffee cups are just too small as well, also not great value for the price!

“Pretty good food, miserable slow service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013 via mobile

Sunday lunch took 3 and a half hours, manager ignored my parents while they waited to be shown to the table they'd booked, removed a chair for seemingly no reason, telling us to put our coats and some presents on the floor, waitresses seemed a little short staffed which may have accounted for the massive delays on food and drinks arriving at our table. Mum and dad ordered roast pork and asked the waitress if it was possible to have extra crackling- plates arrived with none, and when we eventually found someone to ask, they were given a piece that was 3cm square to share. All that aside, the food was really good but the service so lousy we wouldn't go back!!
