Description: Set within the heart of Holme for Gardens, the Orchard is a light and airy destination with wonderful views across the Purbeck Hills. Light refreshments including coffee, tea, hot chocolate and our Holme-made cakes and scones are served all day. Don’t miss our delicious Dorset Cream Tea.Supporting our local suppliers is important to us and our lunch menu showcases just some of the fantastic produce available to us in Dorset. The “specials board” changes regularly to reflect the seasons and our locally sourced ingredients. Much of our fruit and vegetables are grown right here at Holme . We have a wide range of soft drinks including locally pressed apple juice, elderflower pressé, mineral water from the Somerset hills as well as a refreshing, classic Coca Cola. We're licensed too, so why not enjoy a glass of locally brewed beer, Dorset cider or a crisp white wine from the vineyards situated in the Dorset hills. The Orchard’s terrace area and pond side seating is perfect for al fresco dining. A tranquil spot to relax-a-while over lunch, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers.

“Tasty afternoon tea!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

Stopped in here on way home after a weekend camping with friends.

Husband and I had a nice afternoon tea with scones which were huge! I was hungry and contemplated a sandwich too - until the cream tea arrived! Good portions of cream and jam and a good sized teapot.

Friends had sandwiches which they said were good (doorstep style) although was a bit of disappointment that the menu was restricted after a certain time for lunch. We would have happily spent more on your more expensive paninis but as these weren't available we couldn't order them. Also, staff seemed a little reluctant to accept an order of Ham AND cheese (not one or the other) but did say it was ok in the end, but our friends picked up the staff's reluctance to want to do this. Nothing major, just an observation.

Otherwise a lovely place to drop in and very relaxing sat overlooking the pond and beautiful flowers.

Lovely little place to go to. Everything well presented, clean, very pleasant staff with a smile and all together a charming place to go. Now one of my favourites.

“Best tea room of our Lulworth trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

We spent a week in Lulworth Cove, visiting a fair few lovely tea rooms, and this one was easily our favourite.
They served the nicest cream teas we've had (and we've had far too many on this trip!) and also have a great range of chilled ales and ciders.
What really makes the place stand out though are the surroundings. Set in the middle of a beautiful garden centre and pick your own plots, the interior of the cafe is spacious and inviting.
Ideally you'll want to sit outside though, as they have a fantastic large pond, with tables all along the edge. So you can sit in tranquil relaxation, enjoying a cream tea whilst goldfish, carp and dragonflies drift past. Afterwards, you can enjoy the lush flower gardens that form the entrance to the pick your own plots,
The staff were extremely friendly, and special mention must go to the owner's dog. I don't know what his name is but he's a gorgeous Doberman that calmly accepts ear scratches and belly rubs.
We visited twice this trip and will definitely be returning in the future.
