“Wonderful Scones”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

Visited here this afternoon, very pleasant atmosphere. A fantastic selection of cakes. I had the cream tea and the o/h had a chic chip Danish with a latte.

It was busy but the staff were very helpful and attentive. Will be back on our next trip to Wareham

“Chaotic”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

I visited Wareham and was drawn to this little Tea Room with such a delightful name? It was full and buzzing which always give s a good impression! I took a seat in the resaurants. and waited for a short while to be served! There was only waitress serving and she clearly rushed off her feet! I asked for fish and chips and a pot of tea! The waitress explained there was no fish and I was slightly annoyed as it was advertised on the menu! I asked for the Gammon and settled down to drink it was weak but willing! 10 minutes later the ( very embarrassed) waitress returned an informed me that the Gammon was off also! Unbelievable! For a Monday lunch time it was very disappointing! I decided not to bother!
The Owner/manager appeared carrying a tray of cakes into the shop. He was Scruffy, unkept and I was very surprised that he wasn't wearing Chefs whites! I thought it was a policy that all kitchen staff should adhere to.

It would appear that Nellie Crumb is aptly named as Crumbs are all that was available! I did get my fish and chips but from the chip shop next door!,

Very disappointing Nellie!

“Male manager”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

Nellie crumb serves lovely food the young girls that serve you are polite, it's a shame the male manger spent his time yelling at them! Does he realise that his every word can be heard from the kitchen? The staff run around to get everything done efficiently but it seems their efforts are wasted! We enjoyed the food it's a lovely little place but it was ruined by the fact the manager is more concerned about not making enough profit! Maybe he should think before he speaks at such a volume! Everyone in the restaurant heard him, but on the plus side well done to the staff for smiling even when you are spoken to like rubbish!

“Food good... long wait”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

The food was good .... when we got it. The staff are very pleasant, but there was not much on the menu. Eventually we got to our third choice. Can you believe that at half past midday, there is only one fish and chip meal left? the bacon melt was good, but my friend's sausage roll was apparently very bland.

“The extra mile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Visited for a late lunch on a Saturday and found the regular warm welcome. The food quality is high, for example the scampi is proper prawn tails and not the reformed product that is offered in other establishments. The staff are attentive and smiley people who make you welcome, a couple of foreign visitors arrived when we were there with tiny twins in a large pushchair which was a little large for the doorway, no problem, the managaress soon had the wheels off the pushchair and helped lift it through the gap with one of the twins staying sound asleep. The cake shop is a must see with the most delicious local baked produce tempting you as you enter and leave the restuarant. Prices are reasonable our one course meals for two with tea included came to just over twenty pounds, a bargain for the location and the quality provided. It is a regular place that we visit when in Wareham and have as yet never been disappointed.
