“Cheap food,,,,,,,,, poor service poor food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

We have been going for years, and unfortuently the service and food has gone down hill dramatically. The last visit they messed up my order to the extent of totally missing my main course, and then when they were asked where it was they messed up again. so i cancelled it. Then this weekend we decided to give them another go, and was again very disapointed with the quality of the food. Started we had spare ribs and they came out like beef Jerky!! but then again when it takes a hour for your starter to come out, im not suprised they were over done. One of the most annoying things is that if your sat having your meal and want a drink you have to get up and go to the bar as they dont do drinks orders at the table!! The quantity of food is huge and the price is very cheap but you pay for what you get!!

“Sausage Gate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

On a weekend away we chose the Seven Stars for an evening meal. However this was no Michelen Star affair. After a pleasent reception by the bar man we were shown to our table, all good so far.
one of our guests spotted the Pork and leek sausages with onion gravy and mash and as this was billed as a homemade gastro style establishment much was expected. However this was NOT to be case.More poor and limp than Pork and Leek and definately not in the gourmet bracket.Mixed grill, although large was also poor quality with pork, lamb and steak all looking grey.Beef stroganof was cooked to death and very rubbery.
In balance the gammon steak was good and the Steak and ale pie was outstanding.
Staff were also excellent and friendly. My advice would be to head down the road to Lulworth to the Lulworth Cove Inn.
Lulworth Cove Inn.

“Disappointing...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

We had supper there in a Tuesday evening. I found the food very disappointing... very over priced for what it was, and it sounded lovely on the menu, but was just very dull and tasteless when it came. The staff were very friendly but kept calling us 'you guys' the whole time which got a bit irritating. Wouldn't eat there again.

“Large Portions of Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

A traditional looking pub, good, varied menu, large portions of well presented and very tasty food and all at a reasonable price.
