I stayed at Leam House towards the end of last year as a base for a friends wedding and have been meaning to leave a review for them as it was such a lovely stay, however, I have only just joined TripAdvisor!

I was greeted by Jane who was really friendly and helpful. She made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I stayed in the single room which was spotless, decorated nicely and had all the facilities needed/expected of a b&b.
The bed, although a single, which I originally wasn't too excited about, was actually a good size and very comfortable, as was the bedroom and bathroom.
Breakfast was really yummy too. There was a good choice of cereals, juices and yoghurt's and the full English was of a good quality served in a nice bright dining room.
I would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Portland.

I'm always wary of non-chain hotels. Some are excellent and some are disappointing (despite some glowing reviews). However, any wariness was quickly dispelled by the greeting from Jane and my first impression of the interior. The room was well furnished and comfortable. The bathroom was good, too, with a reasonable-sized shower with a good flow of water. Breakfast next morning was served by Steve and he was very friendly and affable. There was enough choice and the food was good.

Room Tip: My room was at the back; away from any passing traffic.

From first entering you get a warm genuine welcome. Nicely located for all amenities.
Both food and facility is of high standard, nothing is to much trouble, thank you Steve, and Jane for a wonderful return to Portland. Adrian J

We came to Portland for a friends wedding and Leam House was recommended.
Can't tell you how lovely our stay was. Both Jane and Steve were the most fabulous hosts.
Breakfast was amazing and set us all up well for the day.
This is the most delightful place to stay and we would highly recommend it.
Their knowledge of local places to visit on the island and their friendliness ensures that we will definitely be back.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you - you were the icing on the cake of a most memorable weekend.

Steve and Jane are welcoming and friendly hosts, serving fabulous breakfasts to keep you going through the day. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. We have stayed here three times and have always received a warm welcome on each occasion. We would never want to stay anywhere but Leam House when visiting our family.

We have just returned home after our second stay at Leam House whilst visiting our friend who lives on Portland. Jane and Steve are warm and friendly and make you feel very welcome. Our room (4) was very spacious and airy and the ensuite bathroom is luxurious. The breakfast is delicious and nothing is too much trouble for your hosts who can't do enough to accommodate you. The buses to Weymouth are 6 an hour during the day, and Portland is always a nice place to return to at the end of day and has lots of pubs and places to eat and the views are amazing. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can.

Wow, what a bathroom!!!! We stayed in room 4 and it was amazing. We had 2 wash basins, a double shower and a freestanding roll top bath! The room was also quite big and spacious and very clean. The breakfasts were massive and amazing and credit to Jane for her excellent cooking. A selection of cereals and yogurts were on offer as well as toast and a full english breakfast topped off with juice and large pots of tea/coffee. Steve and Jane were great during our 2 night stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they even let us put our ice packs in their freezer so that we could keep the fish cool for when we visited Chesil Beach the next day for a spot of fishing (unfortunately we didn't catch anything!).
Weymouth was only about a 25 minute bus ride away and the bus stop was within easy reach of the hotel. A great place to stay and would recommend it to everyone. Can't wait to come back for next years Fish Festival and of course to stay at the Leam House. Well done Steve and Jane!

Room Tip: Room 4 is on the top floor with the very large bathroom!
