“What a great Bank Holiday stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

My wife booked this hotel for my 50th Birthday with our two children. What a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. So close to Studland, Lulworth, Durdel Door, the New Forest and of course Corfe Castle itself.

We had a super room in the rear courtyard, with a separate room for the children.

Great bar food on the Friday evening, lovely dinner on the Saturday evening and of course great breakfasts to last us all day long every morning.

I would thoroughly recommend the hotel and its staff.

We have just spent one night at Mortons and had a lovely time. We know the area well for hiking. The staff were so friendly and helpful and our meal in the restaurant was first class. We had mentioned it was our anniversary and would like a nice table.. Not only did we get a nice table but we had some lovely chocolates handed to us wishing us a happy anniversary. Nice thought. Breakfast was yummy too. Our room had a wet room and no bath but that was fine. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: We had a standard room which was geared for a wheelchair and wet room. We didn't mind but it mi...

We are lucky enough to live in Poole, and so have frequently used Mortons for both business and personal events. We quite frequently have business visitors from overseas who love staying here. It is a little bit of quaint "Englishness".
We have also frequented the restaraunt. Again for business, but also for birthday celebrations etc. The food is always fabulous and the staff warm and helpful. We have never had a problem and certainly go back when we need somewhere sophisticated to take people.
Will hopefuly be back again soon.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable weekend. Perfect location in the middle of the village. The staff were very helpful and obliging. We had booked just the one evening meal on our two night stay which I was glad for. Not because of the food which was good although not fantastic but because the lounge restaurant lacked atmosphere. We stayed in room 14 which was nice and clean although the en-suite was very small. Have to say the bed was very comfortable. Would we return, most definitely. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. We went to see T.E Lawrence's grave and then onto his cottage. Fantastic .

After pur recent Handfasting we had selected Morton house hotel for our wedding breakfast and evening reception. We also stayed in the Elizabethan room on our wedding night

The hotel staff were very accommodating and allowed us to decorate the reception room and tables exactly how we wanted it.

The cozyness of the setting was perfect. Our guests chose from the lounge menu rather than us pick from the wedding function menus and this worked extremely well. The food was fantastic and a special meal was also cooked to order for our celiac guest at no extra cost

Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The whole day went very smoothly, our thanks to Beverley and her team.

Our room was brilliant, 4 poster bed, Jacuzzi, lots of space, lovely sofa, just the perfect room for our wedding night.

All of our guests had a great time, we can highly recommend it for your function or just as a fantastic place to stay if you are exploring Dorset.

We found the hotel and its desk staff to be pleasant and warm. The location of the hotel is excellent; smack-dab in the middle of Corfe, a very short walk to the castle grounds.
The library and bar were comfortable, the restaurant was also nice.
We stayed in a Dacombe room, which is new, quiet, and clean, not to mention handicap-accessible. However, the décor was nothing special and our only window looked out onto the garden wall, so no view at all...
Unfortunately the night we were there for dinner, they had a large party and our dinner ended up being quite unimpressive. The service at breakfast the next morning was rather horrible also. Having said that, the barkeep was a lovely personable person and quite efficient. Our feeling is, given a weekend without large groups, the experience would have been better.

Room Tip: Stay in the main inn. We were in room 19 of the Dacombe wing and it had no natural light or views.

We had several grumpy children following an exciting but very cold visit to Corfe Castle over the easter holidays. We stumbled across this hotel and they were very welcoming; offered us a lovely comfortable drawing/games style room to eat in. Enjoyed lovely hot chocolates and chips and the children played scrabble, while we read the papers. Looks a great place to stay and eat too.

Thanks Morton's! x
