Popped in with friends and for a quick catch up with Graham and Annette, this is where the locals go and where you get a good idea of what it's actually like to live in a "tourist " hotspot. I feel badly for the owners of this lovely little place, the Fox has been here far longer than the tourists, it is what it is, a tiny old pub that only ever expected to be just that, not the all singing, all dancing bells whistles and fanfair sort of place that a lot of tourists seem to expect. Just because it's in a tourist hotspot it isn't compulsory to have to devote yourself to tourists. Go in the Fox and you will be treated like a person, if you are rude demanding and ignorant you will be treated accordingly. You certainly will not be treated like visiting royalty. If you want that, go to the other tourist friendly places but you might get thoroughly ripped off for your pains. The food is good, the company can go from silent contemplation of ones drink to the most bizarre topics in a blink, all kinds of people come in here from hobos to artists and you never know who you might be sitting near because they don't advertise themselves and the day that Graham and Annette treat anyone as more than just an ordinary Joe Bloggs is the day I walk round corfe naked apart from socks and a bobble hat. The gardens are a Labour of love and for those who are annoyed that the pub closes at 2.30 pm In the summer then look around the stunning display out back to see where all that precious tourist time goes. As for the loos, yes they are in an old outbuilding, but they are kept clean and fresh as toilets in an outbuilding can be. They are NOT directly next to the kitchen and looking at it logically, you would find it hard to see where they could re site them. As for the condition, after seeing visitors deliberately leave taps running, pulling yards of toilet roll onto the floor and letting their children urinate and defecate on the floors and in the gardens, I'm not surprised that people find them filthy, just dismayed by the people who think it's ok to behave like this. ( Have posted some pics of garden if anyone cares to look)
