“First class traditional Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

Would highly recommend this delightful, traditional Inn, full of character. The Tiger Inn is in an excellent location, located just off the main road in vibrant Bridport. Wonderful staff, comfortable rooms with all mod. facilities and an excellent breakfast - especially the West Country Full English. The owners are very warm and welcoming, and were able to tell us all about local events and places to visit. Having stayed at the Tiger Inn on several occasions, as a couple and as a family, I don't think you will find a better place to stay in Dorset. Looking forward to our next visit.

We were familiar with the Tiger as a pub, which is cosy, informal and great fun. There are lots of 'activities'; darts, skittles and Formula 1 I'm pleased to say! We decided to use Bridport as a base for a few days hol and stayed at the Tiger. What a delightful room. Airy and spacious and a good sized bathroom. It was home from home. The breakfasts were outstanding, freshly cooked to order and made with local produce. Even the jams were from the local market. Fresh cafetiere and tea and all served in the ambient surroundings of the pub. Many hotels could learn from the Tiger's attention to customer service for it all seemed so effortless. I am almost reluctant to advise on this Bridport gem, preferring to keep its delights all to myself...

Room Tip: Couldn't fault room 1. I'm sure the others are equally good.

Fantastic little inn on a side street in central Bridport. Very nice room and super friendly helpful staff who really made our stay excellent. Breakfast was outstanding, though this is the only meal available as the Inn's focus has stayed on being a 'Dorset Real Ale House' with a range of ales to match - outstanding. This is no big loss as there are plenty of good-looking restaurants in Bridport, including a great cafe just down the road from the Tiger, and even better, a genuine Cornish shop selling genuine Cornish pasties. Excellent!
This is a real 'locals' pub and had a great atmosphere - note that the owners are big sports fans (especially rugby) and there are large-scale tvs in the bar which may not be to everyone's taste. However, if you don't like this and Sky tv is not your thing, then you can always plan to avoid the major sporting events, and enjoy the welcoming convivial atmosphere once the screens have been turned off - it really is a great little spot just to drop in and sup a pint or three. Parking is an issue here as you will need to park up the road, even upto a quarter of a mile away, but you can always temporarily leave the car outside the inn to drop off bags and they will swiftly help you get installed.
Great service, fun nights and a interesting throw-back to an old-time 'Inn' - thanks!

A friend and I booked our stay at The Tiger Inn as we were going to a wedding nearby. We were impressed by how friendly and accommodating the staff were. When we arrived (early) our room was not ready but the owners kindly allowed us to leave our belongings at the hotel while we went for a walk.
Our room was spacious and extremely clean. Even the fold out bed was comfortable!
Breakfast was served at 9.00am (our choice) and was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and offered us plenty of tea and coffee.
As we had to park some distance from the hotel, the owners let us leave our bags behind while we went for a walk around the shops.
Clean, comfortable, friendly......couldn't ask for more....thankyou!

Room Tip: We stayed in the attic room and it was very spacious

Needed to find hotel/b and b in Bridport to visit family for a wedding. Saw The Tiger Inn and booked it, not really knowing what we had booked, but price was reasonable, location was perfect so we went for it.

Quaint pub in a side street off the main high street, but once we were shown our rooms (booked two) we were all totally shocked, absolutely georgous, very tastefully decorated, perfectly clean. Price included breakfast, which was fabulous too. Apart from breakfast they do not do food in this pub, but there are plently are other places to choose from in the town to eat.

The owners have recently redecorated the rooms, all with en suite, to a very high standard, certainly not what you would expect for a side street pub.

Room Tip: The loft room is amazing, huge !
