"I prefer hotels" until now, John and Pauline have changed my mind at least as far as Highway Farm is concerned, they are the friendliest most welcoming hosts. Add to this the lovely, large, very comfortable rooms; the fabulous roomy showers; the tasty breakfasts with homemade bread and Pauline's surprises; the beautiful setting and fascinating area and you have a great holiday.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms.

We were greeted by a very friendly Pauline who settled us in with coffee and home-made lemon cake. The room was large, clean and everything you needed was provided. A large shower, lovely soft towels and great views from the bathroom!
Breakfast was superb and set us up for the day. No need for lunch but we did manage a cream tea in the afternoon!
We stayed for three nights and ate twice at the Ilchester Arms, a short walk away. The food and hospitality there was very good and I recommend the beef stroganoff!!
John and Pauline were perect hosts and made our stay as good as it gets. I can't fault it and will definitely be going back.

Highway Farm surpassed expectations. Pauline and John are the perfect hosts. The farm is in a beautiful, peaceful location, surrounded by stunning Dorset countryside, but on the main local bus route and only a half hour walk into the centre of Bridport. Breakfast was a feast, no need for lunch! The rooms were large and comfortable, with every attention to detail, we wanted for nothing. We stayed for 3 nights, giving us ample time to visit nearby towns and enjoy a leisurely 5 kilometer coastal walk! We ate at 3 restaurants recommended by our hosts, and were not disappointed, we thoroughly recommend the West Bay Hotel, a vast fish menu, and the Olive Tree, mediterranean cuisine, but our favourite was the Half Moon at Melpesh, a bit off the beaten track, but so worth a visit, possibly the best food we have sampled in a long while. We had a perfect weekend break and will definately visit again. A big thankyou to Pauline and John.

We stayed only one night and it was great. Old fashion lovely large homey room. Large shower in the bathroom and delightful views into the valley. Great nearby pub called the Ilchester Arms tipped by the owners (thank you) serving amazing fish and meat (steak!) food. Happy times at the Highway Farm B&B hospitality

This was quite beyond our expectations. Pauline and John, who have a wealth of knowledge about the local area, were the perfect hosts and the cottage where we stayed was immaculate with everything you could wish for. The breakfasts were a delight with local produce, and where possible home made recipes, being used - try Pauline's fruit soaked hot honey crunch. Our visit was in the midst of winter but there was still a lot to do - albeit not in shirt-sleeves! We hope to return. Try the Bridport market on a Saturday morning - lots of antiques, arts and crafts as well as excellent food.

Room Tip: Book ahead. We went in the winter and found that we were the only guests for that weekend.
