“Just about ok for one night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

My husband and I stayed in this B&B for one night in June.
The good things about it were:
- very friendly and helpful hosts
- walking distance to West Bay beaches
- nice breakfast
- tea and coffee making facilities in the room
What we didn't like:
- EXTREMELY NOISY PLUMBING!!! - like nothing I've ever come across before!
- bathroom door in our room didn't have a lock and would not stay shut
- bathroom wasn't clean when we arrived, there was rubbish left in the bin
- decor
Overall, I wouldn't stay in this B&B again; and if travelling in that area in future, would prefer to stay in Lyme Regis - much prettier town with lovely shops and marina.

Had a comfortable stay at this quaint little B & B. Well located between Bridport and Westbay and close to many scenic towns and lovely countryside. Dorchester a must to wander around.
The breakfast room was clean and bright and there was a great breakfast menu - and it was cooked to perfection! Try to get the J.F. Kennedy room, more spacious and a good sized bathroom. (The plants out the front window needed replacing - would make the front of the B & B more inviting). Overall a cozy , nice place.

I had no idea what a beautiful spot Bridport is. The location of this b&b is perfect for a short 10 min walk to West Bay - where Steve the owner recommended brilliant places to eat! You would pay three times the price in London for the unbelievable seafood restaurants here.Steve is a definite foodie as we are, so we were in the best hands. It is also a ten minute walk to Bridport and if you are into vintage/antiques I highly recommend the markets here on a wednesday and saturday. Great finds and really friendly, interesting locals. The location is perfect to do day trips to other regions such as Lyme Regis and of course all along the jurassic coast. I will definitely be going back, and for sure will be staying with Steve and Michelle. The breakfasts Steve cooks are insanely good!

On our trip to the UK we stayed at The White House in Dorset for a few days, perfect location for everything, nice clean room with tea, coffee etc, really comfy beds. Owners are very nice, we would highly recommend.

The room and overall feel did not match up to website or my expectations. On arrival shocked to find no 2 unflushed in toilet pan! Twin room was over powered by too many unecessary tacky paintings. Stained easy chair covered with tatty throw, towels tired and grey and dusty bedside clock. Bathroom decor was tired also, seal around shower icky and managed to lock myself in by faulty door lock and companion had to release me. Damp smell pervaded the bathroom. The toilet mascerating noise and room fridge kept us awake through the night and creaky floorboards outside our door. Tv far too small for room to be able to view from beds. Only one of the bedroom windows could be opened with great difficulty then to be greeted with dusty dirty uncared for window boxes. Breakfast was OK salmon and scrambled eggs was a nice change. Disappointed and overpriced at £75.

Lovely B&B run by a very hospitable and friendly couple. Room was spotless and nicely furnished/decorated. We were welcomed with a large mug of steaming hot tea and made to feel very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent and there was a powerful and hot shower.
Fabulous full English breakfast in the light and airy conservatory was cooked to order by a very genial host who was happy to leave you in peace. We struck up a very interesting and amusing conversation at the end of breakfast and learned about their appearance on a channel 4 TV series, details and photos of which can be found in a folder in your room. Based on the many dozens of unsolicited emails in the folder (of the "I just saw you on Channel 4 and felt I had to write and congratulate you..." type) which make fascinating reading as they are from UK viewers and from all around the world where the programme has been aired. The couple did extremely well and were consistently being congratulated for their honesty, niceness and their genuinely decent behaviour on the show (in contrast with some of the other participants!). I can vouch that they run a super B&B and if passing that way again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there. 5 stars!

Room Tip: Only saw one room - the 'Abraham Lincoln' and it was fine.
