We just love this place. Every member of Staff is kind & caring, taking the time to chat and make you feel most welcome. The food is exceptional, always varied and well presented. My family have stayed here and the rooms are very comfortable & clean. I always join the BA team for New Year celebrations which are great. We have been enjoying since 2005 with regular visits. I cannot see how anybody could have a bad word to say unless they walk through the door with 'issues'. The area has plenty to offer what ever your requirements, West Bay being the jewel in the crown. I will be there again in a couple of weeks and look forward to every minute.

My sister and I stayed here for a weekend. The hotel was all we needed, it is in a perfect location, the staff very efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good, well presented and lots of choice. The bedrooms were very comfortable, especially the beds. Full marks and we will be back.

On our arrival in West Bay we decided to go to this pub for dinner, my husband and myself had had lunch here the previous year. The menu choice was good. My husband and I had duck, whci was excellant and my mother had steak ( also very good). The surroundings were lovely and the staff good. However it took ages to get the bill and when we went to the counter we were told that there was a problem with the internet (not sure what this is all about !!!!!). Slightly took the edge off what would otherwise of been a lovely evening.

This is our third trip to The Bridport Arms, it just gets better. We always stay in the Honeymoon Suite as it has amazing views of the beach and sea. The room is spacious, clean and very comfortable. What attracts us here each time? This is a beautiful part of Dorset and West Bay is a great place to site yourself. There are so many pretty coves and lovely towns all within a quick picturesque drive. West Bay is a fishing port primarily with a huge pebble beach on one end and a sandy beach on the other side of the harbour. There are some entertainments, if that's what you like but if you don't then they don't cause a problem, it's still a very tranquil, relaxing little town. The Bridport Arms is exceptional value for money. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We really appreciate being able to enjoy a fantastic value for money meal (the fish board changes regularly and is just brilliant) everything is homemade on site, a bottle of good wine and then just having to climb those stairs to bed for a great sleep and you do sleep well on their beds!!

Room Tip: You will only pay a little more for the Honeymoon Suite, treat yourselves! Rooms have either a sea...

Friendly staff and pleasant food make this an enjoyeable lunch stop. Plenty of fish on the menu. Mussels were lovely and juicy although I found the sauce far too creamy. Crab mornay was a little on the dry side and served with a rather daunting amount of potatoes. Very good chips and an excellent tartare sauce with scampi. All in all a good experience but a few tweeks here and there would make it excellent.

I visited this hotel recently and firstly it is a great location as it gives excellent access to the Dorset coast and it is right on the sea front. West Bay itself is a small coastal village with teashops, tourist shops and a fun fair. It gets very busy during the day in the summer but is much quieter at night.

The hotel itself is well decorated in the communal areas and you can make use of the pub itself or the lounge if you want somewhere quieter. Our room was over two floors, as there were 3 of us, and our windows overlooked the sea. The rooms worked really well and were clean and well decorated in keeping with the period nature of the property.

We eat in the pub and it can get quite busy in the evenings so you may find you need to book a table. The food was excellent and the portions were a good size, I had the fish and chips which was very good and the rest of my party had the burger and another fish and chips. The night before, when I wasn't there, they had ribs which I am told was also good. The only one complaint I had was the larger was fairly pricy, but the real ale was much more reasonable.

Overall this is a good pub/hotel with period features in an excellent location and I would thoroughly recommend the food.
