“Well done Woolacombe Sands!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2011

We have just returned home from a week at Woolacombe Sands Waney Edge Chalets. What makes this all the better is that this was our 10th successive visit. The only place we have ever been back to more than the initial visit. Why do we like it? Well let's start at Reception, a good welcome is always the starter that puts you in the right mood for a good holiday. The accommodation, Waney Edge chalets are just about the best we have stayed in. Comfort, well fitted out, even a dishwasher and comfortable. Now what else is there? Well stocked shop with your holiday essentials. Playground, outside pool and mini golf. Clubhouse featuring indoor swimming pool, bowling, arcade, pool tables. Rendezvous bar which I reckon stocks any and every tipple anyone could want. Now then FOOD - a varied menu, not just chips with everything, but the time from ordering to eating is about 5 minutes. You are never kept waiting. Not only is the fast food with a vengence, it tastes excellent and there is plenty of it. Good kids menu too. The site is spotless, the Clubhouse the same. The bar area is immaculate, glasses, food etc., never allowed to clutter the tables once finished with. Tables cleaned at the same time. Anything else? Well if there has been soemthing that needs attention, it is done as soon as is practicably possible. Nearly forgot, WiFi is now available. We have already booked 2012, and will continue to go to Woolacombe Sands until we are no longer able to, getting on a bit now!!

we stayed at Waney Edge for the first of many times to come,we have normally stayed on site but Waney is such a beautiful place to be,away in the peace and quiet..
the staff were also very helpful and a huge thanks to Linda and Ross for trying to sort a phone charger out, you have excellent friendly staff and the whole site is just perfect, better than the " noisier" bigger sites ( say no more)
see you next year for a fortnight instead of a week xx

Have just returned from yet another visit. Had a fantastic week. Weather picked up mid week and had a few gorgeous days on the beach. Stayed again at woolacombe sands holiday park making this the 25th year we have visited. Again great accommodation great staff and a wonderful time. Location is great 10 min walk to town/beach. Spectacular views from the site through the valley. Lit's to do on- site. Outdoor pool was a god send and lovely and warm. Even swam outside when it rained 1 day. Crazy golf and football area keep the little and big ones happy for hours. Nightly entertainment at the club house was also good and kids loved Wooly Bear. Thanks everyone looking forward to next year.

We stayed in a silver ocean view caravan. Another great holiday once again. The staff are friendly and always happy to help. The rooms are all clean and very exceptable. The location is great and the entertainment is very humorous. The walk down to the beach takes 5-10 mins and is made plesant by beautiful scenery and a stoned path. I cant find a bad thng to say about this campsite and would recomend to anyone, of all ages.

My second time at Woolacombe Sands (stayed previously June 2010) and its just so fab. The scene from the accomodation is unreal - not often you can get reasonably priced accomodation with such picturesque views. The evening is super for children as Woollybear and Co. entertains them for a couple of hours. Then its bingo for all to play (but children cant claim prizes). After bingo there even more enterainment (singers/comedians etc). All staff are very friendly and welcoming!

The shop has everything you could ask for and the bakery is yummeh! I recommend a sausage baguette from the breakfast menu - They are to die for! The food from the bar/entertainment area is just the biggest you can think of - the Steak meal is enough for 2 people and its served fresh very quickly!

Woolacombe Sands has 2 pools - an outdoor (which I think is also heated) and indoor pool which is nice and warm. Plenty to do onsite and offsite as the beach (which I could see from my caravan) is only 3 mins drive away or 10 mins walk added to which there is a direct trail from the caravan site to the beach! Free Wifi was available but I didnt use it much because I was too busy! All in all a really excellent place to take your family or just your partner even with plenty to do and see!

It is worth noting a previous poster mentioned noise - I never heard anything which was excessive and have never had a problem here which is refreshing to hear (no pun!)
