i think this was my 5th year on the trot down to willingcott valley and enjoyed this year just as much as all the others if not even a little more . our age group range from me 44 thru to capn ken 77 !!
we have the a cottage , breakfast , un limited golf , and evening meal all home cooked and very substantial indeed as daily package which we all think exceptional value for money .

the course itself is as challenging as they come with stunning views , we t off @ 09 30 finish @13 30 then a quick drink with clive in the clubhouse , then get a cab into the lovely little seaside village of woolacombe few beers then back for dinner @ 19 30 .

i would recommend this package to any small or large golfing society

“Briliant Short Break / Holiday Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

Just returned from a four night stay at Willingcott Valley. Absolutely brilliant venue for the North Devon area and just two miles from Woolacombe.
The golf course is challenging but gives excellent views over the countryside and out to Lundy Island. If you are not a golfer then no matter, there is fishing also on the site and excellent walks.
We took the Golf Break which included Dinner, Bed & Breakfast and unlimited golf.
The cottages are all situated close to the club house and of the very highest standard. If you prefer self catering then all items are included within the cottages to ensure you want for nothing.

The food in the club house is locally sourced and freshly cooked with both the fixed menu and the specials allowing you a good choice of very well presented and filling meals and all at very reasonable prices.

The clubhouse is very very friendly and with Clive behind the bar and assisting in the resturant there is no way you will not feel anything other than a valued guest. If you can bring golf club tags for his Guinees Book of Records collection then that would be appreciated.
This is a venue that we will be definately visiting again.

“Perfect quiet getaway in North Devon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

We stayed in the cottages at Willingcott Valley purely for a holiday , as we have visited Woolacombe before and love it there , we dont play golf , but for the purposes of me, my wife and our eight month old son it was perfect. The cottage was a compact size, and equipped with washing machine, microwave , oven, TV & Video and small stereo and decent bathroom, perfect for holidaying with small children. It was clean when we arrived, there was a slight issue that the bathroom smelt as though someone had peed in it, and hadn't cleaned up ! however on ringing the agent , a cleaner was sent ,and resolved it very quickly. The bed linen was a bit poor quality and I would recommend taking your own pillows and duvet covers etc , as the ones provided are functional but not super comfortable. Outside of the cottage are lovely grounds , with loads of birds, a duck pond, no traffic noise or aircraft noise , very quiet and really pleasant place to sit and have a glass of wine. There is a nice bar and clubhouse associated with the golf club which serves decent beers, and wine etc, and the staff are friendly. There is a outdoor pool which is well maintained ,and warm . The location is a couple of miles from Woolacombe town, and you will need to drive there as there is a very steep hill down to the beach, to keep costs under control we bought our own food , and cooked and ate at the cottage , and there was provision of all plates , cutlery , and also a safe high chair which our eight month old used. You are located within easy reach of Croyde , Georgeham, Woolacombe, & Ilfracombe , Croyde and Woolacombe are both quality beaches and offer good surfing and safe swimming etc. In all it was a great location for a short break , and was really convenient with a young child.
Our only slight criticism was that while the cottage was clean when we arrived, there was the pee issue which as solved quickly , but it had the feel of being slightly damp and as if it had been closed up for a while with no tenants, this was gone within a day or so as we left windows open , and were running the washing machines and TV etc , however as we were booked in , the windows at least upstairs could have been opened, and the place aired slightly. Its a minor issue , but it would have changed my review from very good to excellent !

Jonnyboy,

As one of the Partners of the golf course, I would like to thank you for the nice comments on the grounds around the cottages, am I am pleased that you enjoyed your holiday here in North Devon.

The cottage you rented was not one of the cottages that we act as agents for, so I can only apologize on behalf of all accommodation providers in North Devon that the cottage was not up to the standard that you expected.

I would like to think that you will consider returning to Willingcott Valley, and that if you were to book your holiday through us, that you would find the standard of cleaning and airing of the cottage was beyond your expectations.

“Fantastic Golfing Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2011

Have just returned from our second visit to Willingcott. First visit was for a weekends catered break where all meals are provided for you, this time we spent a week self catered, The cottages a superbly appointed providing everything needed to make your stay comfortable. The staff are dedicated to make your stay enjoyable, especially Clive in the bar. The golf is outstanding with holes that will challenge golfers of all levels. We are already planning our trip back there again next year.
