Just got home from a two night stay and it was brilliant. Fantastic location with ample parking. Lovely hosts who were very friendly and welcoming. Awesome breakfast in the splendid American Diner with tunes playing from the Wurlitzer jukebox.
Can't wait for the next stay!

My partner and I have just returned from two brilliant nights at the Rocks, everything you could want and more. Wendy and Martin are genuinly first rate, helpful, friendly hosts that really made us feel at home without overdoing it. The Hotel is spotless, our room was beauifully warm (we stayed in mid November) with a radiator we could adjust to our preference. The breakfast is 5*, they recommended places to eat, run a drop off/pick up service (very helpful if your walking the coastpath as we are) and as the other reviews say have all sorts of surfing goodies for you to borrow if you choose to. Will definately be booking again and thoroughly recommend to all.

Having checked out of a hotel in Ilfracombe which was dreadfully disappointing, we drove into Woolacombe in the hope of finding a hotel for just one night, on a cold and very windy Sunday. The tourist information centre was closed, but on the board outside was the number for The Rocks - how lucky that we found it and they were prepared to let a room for one night! It was so lovely. Martin greeted us and showed us to our room, pristine and modern. He advised us where to go for a soggy afternoon and we were glad we took his advice.
Facilities to make tea and coffe in your room, supplemented by fresh milk from the fridge downstairs is such a homely idea! DVD's to borrow too, lots of thought has gone into what would make this hotel a little gem.
The best surprise was at breakfast the next morning. We opened the door to the dining room and stepped into an amazing american diner! Jukebox, traffic lights, posters - brilliant!! Breakfast was very good, all the options for a snack or a full english, cooked perfectly by Wendy.
Whether a short break, or a week of surfing, we can absolutely recommend The Rocks to anyone visiting the area.
Thanks to Martin and Wendy, we really enjoyed our short stay, just sorry we didn' find you sooner!

If your surfing walking or just need a beach break this is the place to stay in woolacombe.
Been here many times and can't fault the place. Wendy and Martin are just the best host.
Excellent breakfast in the sixties breakfast room with a juke box and surfing videos to help those eggs go down. Forgot your board and wetsuit ? no worries Martins got it covered with a selection of sticks and rubber to keep you in the water. A stones throw from the beach and the red barn.
Just park the car and thats it. Don't need to go anywhere else. The rooms are well set out with a great power shower in all the rooms I have stayed in. Been here on surfing trips many times and with the family.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at the Rocks hotel several times and cannot recomend it highly enough. The hotel is of a very high standard, the rooms comfortable and clean (we have had great sea views on each stay), yummy breakfasts served in the cool retro dining area. The hosts Wendy and Martin are a lovely couple, warm and welcoming, providing everything you need for a perfect stay - including the use of wetsuits, canoes and boards which is a real bonus!
We wouldnt even consider staying anywhere else in Woolacombe and hope to be back again soon!
