Stopped off at The Trout Inn for a spot of lunch. The pub was warm and the staff friendly. It has experienced flooding twice in the last 6 months so it's stark interior can be excused.
The pub, unpretentious and basic first appearance and not claiming to be a Gastro pub (so I was not expecting a taste bud experience), sadly let itself down on the food.
I chose lasagna which arrived in good time and was hot but unfortunately the recipe seemed to consist of minced beef, oregano, lasagna and cheese sauce- I could not see any sign of tomatoes or other veg.
There were plenty of chips and salad which were ok.
my husband had a caesar chicken burger with anchovies (unusual), this pallid looking burger was a taste disappointment . The meal came to just over £ 20 including a couple of drinks and not good value for money. We did not complain as we were in a hurry, but we will email the owners with our thoughts.
