“Perfect for a family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Just returned from a week's stay in Katie's Corner with our 14 month old son. What a great place to stay. Had a wonderful welcome when we arrived, cottage was spotless and shopping was already put away. Cream tea was a lovely touch

Had a great view of the duck pond and other animals. Our son loved it. He was waiting for the ducks in the morning and absolutely loved the animals. He does a great impression of Barney the donkey!

Beaches are beautiful, visited Saunton and Woolecombe. Recommend a visit to Lynton and Lynmouth and Exmoor Zoo.

Already planning our next trip back!

We have just returned from a week in Tom Kitten with our 19 month old son and have had such a wonderful time. Our little boy has developed so much in the space of a week having had the opportunity to feed animals twice daily and donkey rides every morning..he loved it. You cannot put a price on seeing a beaming smile like that every day. Our cottage was perfect having been recently renovated and the hot tub was real luxury. The organisation is superb. Having our shopping already put away in the cupboards on arrival and some fabulous meals ready and waiting from a local supplier made it so easy. The outdoor play area and play barn were brilliant for children and my husband and I even enjoyed a game of table tennis! The location is perfect, not far off the M5 and within a short distance from some beautiful villages and the coast. It made a great base for visiting the many places in the area. I highly recommend the Tarka Trail,we hired bikes and a trailer for our son and it made for a lovely family day out. Thanks for the suggestion Cheryl! Also great fish and chips at Squires just in Braunton and Croyde was a really beautiful place to visit. We can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to come back next year! Thanks again Cheryl, Roger, Jenny and Reg for a wonderful time!

Just come back from a week at North Hayne Farm Cottages... with 4 adults and 6 kids... and it was the perfect place to stay - close to loads of great things to do during the day, and perfect for kids. The farm was a massive hit with the little ones and the hot tubs and massage an even bigger hit for the grown-ups. The lure of feeding the animals made getting the kids dressed and up in the morning really easy, and was also a great distraction just before tea time. The play barn was really well stocked with a wide range of fun and educational toys, books and DVD's, and the treasure hunt was a stroke of genius. As were the donkey rides.
You can tell that a lot of love and thought has gone into making this place a great place for families to stay. The people who run the cottages obviously really enjoy what they do, and you can tell. Top marks!
Hannah & Oscar (we stayed in miss tiggywinkle cottage)

This was our third visit to North Hayne Farm with my husband and our two children aged 7 and 10 and we will definitely be going back. We have previously stayed in Katies Corner and Tom Kitten. The cottages are very comfortable and homely and the cream tea on arrival is something we look forward to. There are many things to do within around a half hour drive of the farm and nearby South Molton is handy for shops, including a reasonable sized Sainsburys. The family that run the cottages are really friendly and we are always made to feel very welcome. The children adore the animals and are always keen to get back to the farm for feeding time and so they can spend time outside playing. It is a safe environment for children to play as there are no cars and the cottages are in a courtyard so the children are always visible. Our cottage had a hot tub which was nice to use in the evenings. Because there are only seven cottages it is very peaceful and for the most part we are unaware of other guests. A particular benefit for us is that we order our grocery shopping online before we leave home and it is delivered to the cottage for our arrival. We found the farm from a recommendation from a work colleague and would definitely recommend to others, particularly those with young children.

Room Tip: Although each cottage is different, they are all lovely. I would recommend choosing one with a hot...

North Hayne farm is fantastic for families. The cottages are lovely, very comfortable and nicely decorated. We shared Samuel Whiskers with family and it was great. Lots of extras are provided- bbq, washing line, children's cutlery, high chair, cot, activity packs for the children, a playroom, outdoor play areas etc. The staff are all very friendly and approachable. My daughter is nearly 2 and really enjoyed feeding the animals and riding the donkey every day. It is also in an area that is near lots of devon's attractions- both coastal and inland. We will definately be returning here!

This is our family's 5th visit to North Hayne Farm and it will be our daughter's enduring childhood holiday memory. Every year Cheryl & Roger improve the experience. Ably assisted by Jenny & Reg and without a cloud in the sky this year is turning into one of our best ever. Every morning and evening the animal feeding provides a great experience for the children and allows the parents to enjoy the hot tub safe in the knowledge that their little darlings are having the time of their lives, or if you're like most a chance to turn the clock back 40 (ahem...) years and feed the animals themselves.

This year saw us visit Linton and Lynmouth, Tarr Steps, Combe Martin amongst other places, in the wonderful Devon surround, always returning to North Hayne for the evening feeding ritual. Always a pleasure to meet other parents who, like us, seem to walk around with a permi-smile :-)

See you next year folks!

Room Tip: Katie's Corner is our favourite as faces the centre of the farm and the feeding. The outside sea...

Our June week at North Hayne Farm was our third visit and we have booked for our fourth visit in 2013. Our three generation family stayed very happily in Squirrel Nutkin cottage and appreciated the separate living and dining room to give us valuable space. As Granny to one and four year olds, I took them over to the playbarn each early morning to give Mum and Dad a welcome lie-in. Everything went well, although we would have liked more sun.

Three generation families: look no further. your under-sevens will love North Hayne and you will feel you've had a wonderful break. The owner's excellent website will tell you more.
