“A hikers retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Stopped here when hiking along the coastal walk. Great relief to find this place to get out of the rain.
Only drank but the food looked good too.

“Log fire”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We have called in here a few times for a pint whilst visiting Mortehoe. On the last visit during October half-term, we enjoyed a drink when we walked from Woolacombe to Mortehoe, they had a log fire which was very welcome. This pub has plenty of character and serves the standard range of drinks, including some local ales.

“Great Friendly pub”

Good value pub food. Hearty portions and good service. Yet another place in the area we just love to eat and drink in!

“Last night meal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Have been here before as it is an olde worlde pub just what you are looking for on your hols. The pub is in the quaint village of Mortehoe near Woolacombe. However on our last visit we found the place a disaster. The staff were falling out which made us feel very uncomfortable. The food was very poor just thrown together and for the first time in my life on my plate I had gravy with salad! The atmosphere was terrible.Once again this pub depends to much on there position and not enough on old fashioned service.

“Nice Guinness shame about the staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We stayed at this pub on several occasions for a swift one, however found some of the staff to be rude, to the point we wouldn't eat there and give them any more of our money.
