We stumbled upon this little gem in Dulverton over New Years 2012 after a few wrong turns heading for Tarr Steps and can quite categorically say it is one of the best pub finds for us in the last 10 years. The staff are friendly welcoming and chatty, the range of beers and wines are exemplary and the food is always consistent, hearty and made with love.
I honestly cannot fault this place at all, even when rammed to the hilt they will go out of their way to accommodate a slightly peckish stranger with a venison burger or anti pasti platter, there is something to suit every palate and a great drink with knowledgable staff who can guide and politely advise, to go with it.
We gladly drive a good 75 mins from Sherborne in Dorset to this shining star of hospitality to hunker down in one of the comfy window seats with a paper and a glass of wine and enjoy a lovely relaxed lunch, soak up the atmosphere and turn round and drive 75 mins back - it really is that good.
Believe the reviews folks, places as good as this are few and far between these days.
