“Still not there.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Over a year since my last visit and has it improved?

Well, there's a new carpet.... but that's where the improvements end..

9 pm on a saturday night and there were eight people in....

Only the owner seems to do any serving, the three "waitresses" flapped around and at times looked like rabbits caught in the headlights...

Food, once again nothing special, items that were supposed to be crispy were on the whole rather soggy... VERY good ribs though!

Whereas the plastic flowers have gone, the wine glasses are still awful and the wine list is still diabolical.. the Chianti was barely drinkable. Also, they're still splitting cans of lager to make up a pint and putting the rest back in the fridge (is this legal under H&S?)

Please change the music!!!

Seems to thrive on take-aways......

I think I'll leave it another year..

ATB,J.

“Yummy”

I love chinese food. This was lovely, best chinese in Dawlish. Will definitely return. Actually, with their takeaway service, I might just get one tonight :P

“Chinese Restaurant in Dawish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

The food was excellent, the service attentive but the outside could do with a complete makeover and possibly even the restaurant decor. Does not do the restaurant itself justice and would certainly increase their "passing trade" patronage.

Good service- had a takeaway, more than I could eat but extremely tasty and good value wish there were more in the town.

“Fantastic Food and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

I have just returned to my B & B room while down here on business. I love food especially foreign cuisine. However i walked around Dawlish trying to find somewhere decent to eat and there are just mant pubs selling medicore food (from what i could establish from the menu) and most of these in a not too great surounding. I walked past this place at first as from the outside it does not look anything special. However i returned as i do not like to eat in noisy pubs with only locals attending. I walked through the door and was suprised at the interior. Not the most modern but very nice and a great welcome. Ok i was the only customer on a quiet Monday evening early out of the holiday season but the staff were great and the ffod was served without having a long wait. The food was absolublty fantastic and not what i would call typical english chinese food. I established by talking to the chap behind the bar that this was his family business and the chefs are infact his parents who have been cooking authentic chinese food for over fourty years. And yes you can tell. This is quality food and like one of the other comments i could not believe how much fresh crab there was in my crab and sweetcorn soup and it was only £2.50. Well worth a try if in the area if only for a take away but the service in the restaurant was also worth the visit.
