This is a small, busy restaurant where we have lunch once in a while, a simple menu, with what I consider to be traditional lunchtime fayre, inexpensive and tasty. On this occasion, I had the steak and kidney pie, tender beef, plenty of kidney and a tasty gravy topped with flaky pastry. Basic, nicely presented with chips, peas and carrots, and served piping hot, followed by steamed chocolate pudding with custard. There was a good variety of 'hot' desserts, lovely!
Service was prompt and polite, and the menu included a small carvery which we did not try.
