“Good food and a great destination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

A firm favourite for walking and cycling on the moor. I will be looking forward to a return visit here at the end of the month on the Dartmoor Devil.

“Best cafe for miles around!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I live in Tavistock which has many cafes but none as good as Fox Tor in Princetown. Often cycle from Tavi up Pork Hill and Rundlestone and Fox Tor Cafe is a very welcome half way point.

It is exactly as a cafe should be. Always seems busy, really helpful staff, good atmosphere and great food at reasonable prices. I nearly always have the small breakfast at £5.50 - it ain't small! Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Hash Brown, Beans, Mushrooms, Toast, Tea and OJ - always cooked perfectly and never too greasy. The menu is wide ranging and caters for most tastes.

Excellent facilities for cyclist and walkers alike - well worth a stopover.

“great breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

It is difficult to find a place that opens before 9:30 in Princetown, but the Fox Tor Café does - so we enjoyed a hearty full English breakfast here and read the paper in our own time. The café also does bike-hires, and it sells souvenirs. So try it. Much better than the alternatives in Princetown. We liked it.

“Great food at a decent price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

A proper walkers cafe which doesn't mind muddy walkers or dog. It gets very busy at weekends during meal times as it is a very popular stop off on the moors so arrive early to ensure you get a table. I can recommend their big breakfast as it comes with juice and tea with toast with a huge cooked breakfast. There's no waitress service so you have to order at the counter but your food is delivered to the table so that's OK.
