This beautiful little ruin is tucked away, and takes some finding, but it is well worth the effort.
It is very reasonably priced, and the audio tour is a must, giving all the background to each of the castles different areas. It is cleverly narrated, being clearly aimed at youmger listeners, without patronising the adults.
There is also a fine woodland & meadow walk around the castle grounds, which is a must when the sun is shining.
Oh! if the National Trust would take a leaf out of English Heritages book, THIS is the way to market an antiquity to the public.
