“visit to Civil War site celebrating the Union victory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Taking the incline to the park, which is located at the top of Lookout Mountain, is the best way to get there. The views of the city and Tennessee Valley are spectacular and the war memorials easy to find.

“Breathtaking views for $3”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

Instead of paying for rock city or ruby falls, we decided to save our pennies and take in the view from Point Park. Parking is $1 for an hour (take your quarters for the meter), and that's enough to have a leisurely walk round, read the information and visit the centre to see a short video on the civil war history of lookout mountain. Highly recommended way to spend some time.

“Beautiful, peaceful, with amazing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

We first stopped at Ruby Falls, about 1-2 miles below Point Park. It was a nice, relaxing drive from there up to Point Park, and the homes and views along the way were amazing. You enter a little town, and just after you pass a couple of small stores you are at the entrance to Point Park. There are plenty of places with metered parking on the main street and side streets, you won't be more than a few houses away from the entrance. You go in, and there is an-ATM like machine that you can feed with cash or credit to pay the $3 fee for adults 16 and older. The park itself is serene, beautiful, nice sidewalks, the monument is a great stop, plus you can walk down around the tip of the park to see more views, cannons, etc. if you want. If you enjoy Civil War history seeing the vistas really brought to life an understanding of the battles fought here. One of the best stops we made on our trip!

“Amazeing views nice paved walk however we went on trails they aren't always marked clearly and very rugged in areas but totally”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

The park itself is beautiful pet friendly and easily walked as its paved. However when u start the trails down the mountain to cravens house trails are not properly marked on the way down defiantly some parts not safe for small children but I only have my dogs and they loved it!!!!!!!!! What I thought was a mile two hike turned into a 6 mile hike breathtaking views!!!

“learn about this civil war battle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

You will learn a good history lesson while enjoying the walk among rocks and the great view. You can also watch a 20 minute film to learn more about the battle. A must for the Civil War buffs.
