“Lovely location, Great service, delicious food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

I only have one negative comment about the Cleve and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it... Parking. The Cleave only has about 5 spaces so generally you have to park on the road. Thankfully, Lustleigh is a beautiful little place so walking about the village is no hardship!

Everything else about The Cleave is just spot on! Loads of choices on the menu, great quality food, huge portions, great value (I only paid £104 for three courses & drinks for four of us). The ribs were to die for! The manager/landlord was great, really friendly but not too 'in your face' and the waitress helping him out was also very pleasant.

Really good all round - we will be back for sure.

“Lovely food,peaceful setting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Myself & husband visited here late June 2013 for husbands birthday late afternoon(minus children!)Very warm welcome from bar staff, menus given with recommendations-owner came outside & chatted, answered questions about the menu.I chose the kangaroo steak with beetroot & spinach mash, was lovely-husband had rack of pork ribs-huge plate!Too full for pudding, but both finished with a coffee.Lovely surroundings(we are not too far away),but is probably heaving in August. Will def go back to eat,but again without the kids during peak season(can't remember seeing a kids menu either as wasn't looking on this occasion, but not to say they won't cater for children)Website did offer free wifi but we were unable to access-as a social visit not business we weren't bothered, but business travellers may be-had we enquired I'm sure this would've been sorted.Very pleasant overall!

“A real gem hidden away on Dartmoor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

It took my partner and I ages to find the Cleave at Lustleigh but it was so well worth the effort. A very pretty village setting, not too busy, we were able to get a table outside easily. The staff were very friendly and the food choice looked excellent. We both chose the beef and fondant potatoes with roast veg. It was first rate. Definitely go again.

“Excellent hospitality, wonderful atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Can't say too much about this pub. Staff service was fantastic and the food (though only a light lunch) was creative and tasty. The issue here is parking! The pub asks you to double park and leave your number at the bar. The villagers in this pretty village are unhappy as there is little space on the streets for them. I hope they sort this out.
