We stayed at the Hunters Lodge Dartsmeet Pincetown Devon Pl20 6SG ([--]) for two nights, It is in a lovely setting on Dartmoor at the meeting of the East and West Dart rivers. They have three letting rooms, all clean and nicely furnished, two are on-suite.We had a double, with breakfast for £30 for us both. Not suitable for the disabled (or the ambulatory challenged as we now have to say), due to quite steep stone steps down to the entrance from the car park.
You can pre-book a meal and we had the Devon Menu, all locally produced produce is used in the meal and it really was first class.
We were made very welcome by the proprietors, John and Toni Evans.
They are some excellent walks from the B & B, along the river Dart. Nearby is Brimps Farm which has Tea Room and an interesting Mine Trail, with interpretation boards so that you know what you are looking at.
It is about two miles from Princetown with its visitor centre and the Museum of Prison Life. Castle Drogo is a short drive away and is well worth a visit. It is the last Castle built in England and is less than 100 years old.
