“An excellent stop on the Two Moors Way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2011

Everything about our overnight stay in Farleigh Cottage was perfect. We arrived hot and tired after our second day of the Two Moors Way walk. Lyn made us feel very welcome and we were greeted with tea and home made cake, to eat in her lovely garden. The location in this very nice town is ideal, and the accommodation is excellent in every way - comfortable room, fresh milk and home made biscuits, very good breakfast. We felt very "looked after" and Lyn couldn't have been more helpful. Plenty of choice for evening meals in the local pubs and restaurant. We would certainly return to Farleigh Cottage if we revisit this lovely area.

All there is to say is that if you are going to stay in Chagford stay here. Chagford is a lovely village and big enough to have some village shops and a brilliant Deli and bakery and is superbly situated to get the most from Dartmoor.
Farleigh Cottage is just down the road from the main square but is set back from the road, which is quiet anyway. The best thing about staying here is Lyn the host, she really seems to love to help. We were walking the Two Moors Way and were greeted with tea and cakes and offers to wash or dry anything we needed - what more could you want.
The room was nicely presented and didnt feel too squashed in plus had TV & DVD player if you wanted to amuse yourself in the evening.
Breakfast was nicely cooked with a good choice of what to have.
It wasnt expensive either, so there really is nothing bad at all to say, I whole heartedly recommend it.

Highly reccommended, we stayed here over the Easter bank holiday, and Lynn made us feel very welcome. Lovely room, choice of breakfasts, and all round confortable facilities. Lynn looked after us and took the time to chat to us which made us feel very welcome. If you are vising Chagford, then you couldnt find a nicer place to stay!

We stayed in the double room with en-suite shower and were very pleased with it. Lyn is very welcoming and the range of breakfast items on offer is superb - a good start to our days out. Their is also a relaxing guest lounge to use. Chagford is worth a walk around as it has some very interesting shops, plus 4 pubs. The area is quiet and relaxing, with walks and several National Trust properties nearby. Lyn also has a small holiday cottage (Let by Helpful Holidays) which sleeps 4 and we would definately be pleased to stay their too, as like the B&B it is very well presented.

We stayed for just 1 night. The owner was most welcoming, our bedroom was well appointed with very comfortable beds. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious with a very good selection of local products. We were very sorry not to be able to stay longer. A delightful B&B in a lovely village.

We had a great weekend at Farleigh cottage. Lyn is a lovely lady and makes you feel at home and she bakes a wonderful lemon drizzle cake too! The breakfast is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Chagford is one of the most delightful small towns in the area and the countryside around is terrific.
