Found this excellent guest house on the internet. The website is comprehensive and easy to navigate and portrays an accurate description and vision of the property. Having decided on a one night stay on our way down for a week long holiday in Salcombe, Devon, the booking process was simple and all communications clear and concise.
On arrival John and Tess made us most welcome and after being shown to our room, which was spotless, very tidy and extremely well appointed, we were offered tea and biscuits in the garden ... very welcome after our journey.
Brookside certainly has a small hotel feel about it but with the added advantage of personal attention ... nothing was too much trouble.
After a few hours exploring Brixham, taking in a light meal and returning to Brookside it was a pleasure to use the room facilities including watching the flat screen TV and selecting a DVD from the large selection provided.
Following a good nights sleep, the power shower was used to great effect enabling us to take full advantage of the magnificent breakfast provided ... an excellent array of cereals, juices, freshly prepared fruit, and just about any combination of cooked breakfast ingredients imaginable. John and Tess even had kippers on the menu which delighted my wife as did their preparation of her special gluten free bread.
Altogether excellent accommodation and service and a venue which we would be very happy to recommend to anyone.
