“MUST visit this wartime gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

Stumbled across this while out walking and it is a superb little museum, with other associated sites around and about the cliffside grounds. The volunteers who man the centre were very knowledgeable and the small hut is packed to the brim with artefacts. There are also field guns and othe rites outsider, and wartime battlements in the cliffside, some of the best remaining in the whole country. Walk in from Brixham and enjoy the views along the way,or there is a car park nearby. Make sure you leave a donation at the end of your visit to keep this voluntary attraction going as it really is a gem. Thankyou gents!

“well worth the visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

Visited whilst out walking Fishcombe area. Live locally and did not know to much about the centre.
This is well worth the visit.
Manned by volunteers their local knowledge of the history and surrounding area was very impressive. This attraction is suitable for all ages and kids would love it. Parking is about 75m away.
There are no signposts which is a bit baffling as this is a unique attraction and would be of interest to locals and tourist alike. Check the website for opening times

“Very Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Wow...a little treasure trove of WW2 History. The chaps here doing a great job keeping the history of the area alive. So enthusiastic. Museum absolutely jammed with artefacts/history. My sons loved dressing up in uniforms and holding the guns. They didn't want to leave. There is no charge -- voluntary donations only - so if you do go, chip in! It's important to keep this thing going.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

This is a fantastic little museum. The staff are so knowledgeable, interesting and enthusiastic. Many thanks to Rob Robinson (hope I have his name right) for telling us about the history of Slapton Sands - it was so interesting to know what really happened. Well done to all for preserving an important part of both England's and Brixham's war time history.

“retracing my fathers footsteps! a wonderfull experience !!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

as the title says retracing my fathers footsteps!
my father served here from around 1940-43 so while in the area it was a "must visit" attraction.
the heritage center only opens on certain days and times so checking is essential, but the emplacements are obviously always there so it is worth taking a chance.
absolutely loved enthusiasm of museum staff, brilliantly informative and very passionate!
lots of genuine exhibits to view and handle. the ability to enter several of the emplacements.
i all this was not enough it is all set in some wonderfull scenery with super cove at the bottom of the lane along side he center.
