“Just perfick!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

My partner, golden retriever and I have just retuned home from a 5 night stay at Raddicombe Lodge. Graham and Kay along with Rita (the unsung hero!) were the most perfect hosts with exactly the right balance of professionalism and friendliness. Our room was cosy, comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were very tasty accommodating all tastes. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and we are already planning our return visit!

Very welcoming hosts and lovely comfortable rooms with great views. However I am surprised everyone rates the breakfasts so highly. Personally I found the coffee could be a lot better and I am not a fan of margarine. My husband had the hash browns – think the less said the better on those ones. The eggs, both poached and scrambled passed my fussy taste, so well done. Having said all that, the location and comfort were wonderful, but be aware of timings on walks!! Take some of the complimentary biscuits with you – would highly recommend staying at the Raddicombe Lodge.

Room Tip: We had room 7 which had lovely views over the coast

Thank you for your feedback on Raddicombe. Glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay.
Very pleased to hear that you would highly recommend us.

We do always listen to feedback either positive and negative....and do take on board comments received. However difficult to work out some of your comments....so not sure how to make any changes. Pleased to hear that our scrambled and poached eggs passed your "fussy taste".
We use either Butterific with added butter milk with no artificial colours which is suitable for vegetarians....or we provide Lurpak spreadable which the pack says is butter blended with vegetable oil....both of which have proved over the years to be popular. We can of course provide the more traditional slab butter if requested.
Our hash browns have never had any negative comments so not sure what the problem was.....Under or over cooked I'm not sure? Again had you mentioned a problem we would have responded at the time. You didnt like the coffee...not sure why as you didnt mention this one either. For info we serve filter coffee or decaf coffee. No instant in sight!!!

However very pleased you enjoyed the rest of your stay at Raddicombe and were able to take advantage of the lovely walks we have in the area. Yes, the timings on local walks can be very variable....some folks wiz round and other take a much more relaxed approach.

Once again thank you for your feedback and we look forward hopefully to welcoming you back to Raddicombe in the future.

Best regards
Graham & Kay

My wife, my daughter, my son, our dog and I were all very well looked after and all enjoyed an excellent x2 night stay in a great room with a lovely view. In addition, the service was outstanding and a welcoming drink and biscuits on arrival was very much appreciated. However, the full breakfast and enough coffee to drown in each morning, served out in the garden too, was a great start to each day!! An outstanding short-stay and we can't wait to return - many thanks to Kay and Graham!!!

Kay and Graham,, we are so jealous of your beautiful property. We certainly did unwind and we loved our room and the bed was so comfy.
A beautiful breakfast every morning and even one morning on the lawn..
Thank you for your advice on the walks and boat trips and for paying for us to going over the river to Dartmouth on the ferry.
We certainly will come back and we are seriously thinking of booking the Mariners cottage in the near future.

My wife and I stayed at the Radicombe for three nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The room was very comfortable and spotless. Breakfasts were superb and really set us up for the day.
Our hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay an enjoyable one.
We never did find all the mice though :>) (Not real ones !)
We will certainly look to stay again next time we are in the area.

My wife and myself stayed at Raddicombe back in April of 2013...
We intended to use Raddicombe as a base whilst we visited many of the local attractions...Graham and Kay are fantastic hosts and freely gave good advice on directions and info for the various places that we visited..

We stayed in No 6..this double was warm , comfortable ,very clean and has a good atmosphere..the breakfasts are fantastic...loved them..

We loved ,we will be back..simple as that......

Very welcoming to both humans and dogs. Very nice hosts, couldn't be more helpful. Lovely surroundings with sea views from some rooms. Breakfast to die for! ( just ask our dog ). Nice en-suite room. Will certainly be returning here. Thank you to Graham and Kay.
