“Day with family”

I use to come here for meetings with work, but to no fault to the hotel the business decided to change to meetings in situ.
Having had a couple of great Xmas parties here I decided to bring my cousin who was visiting from America for lunch. We didn't book, and on arrival could see they were busy, but were greeted very friendly and shown to a lovely table where you could still see the view ( lived here for 56 years and it still amazes me), the food and drink were ok priced but worth it at the end, food was great and service very good, I remembered a few of the faces ( Shaun from Xmas parties, and carrie very smiley)
Will definitely be back, would love to return for one of ur 2013 Xmas parties I saw in ur brochures

Great welcome on arrival. The staff throughout our stay were extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Our room was well decorated with a lovely sea view. We stayed on half board basis which was a good decision as evening meals were of a high standard. Access to the beach is good. Discovered the indoor pool, which for the cooler months is brilliant. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last!

After inviting some friends to come and stay with us for a few days we thought it would be nice to stay at Saunton Sands Hotel.
Upon arrival we were greeted be a lovely young man named Kenny, he helped us with our bags and showed us to reception ( so far so good as was nice to be welcomed in such a manner ) Having checked in by jenny who made us feel very welcome Kenny then showed us to our room letting us know he was there to hellp if anything was needed. ( Once again great service )
The room was meant to be a deluxe room but was mediocre at best and wasn't the cleanest of rooms either!
Anyway we wasn't going to let this small thing ruin our trip!
We met our friends in the terrace lounge area for a cream tea only to wait 25mins for someone to serve us and when they finally did our order was wrong and the lady that served us couldn't even be bothered to apologise or correct the order! ( now things were starting to get to me )

In the evening we met downstairs and had to wait an extra half hour than the time we booked for the restaurant due to it being busy in the restaurant which we understand does happen but this turns out to be the case all three nights. We spoke to the manager named marchin\martim? and to us it seemed he found the whole thing funny as he kept making poor jokes trying to defuse the situation!!

On our second day we ate in the terrace but yes once again poor service and bad attitudes from the bar staff made it a terrible day and just put me in a mood.
The Hotel seemed to me that once it has your money it doesn't really care whats happens to its visitors during there stay and if its mentioned not a lot is done while your there!
Its a shame as its views are incredible and could be a real gem!

We have a business trip for 40 people coming up soon and was going to recommend to my company using Saunton Sands but after my experience this will not be the case!

Room Tip: Would recommend a sea view room as are one of the best in the uk

Arrived to the normal great service, from the moment we pulled into the car park. Stayed with friends this time, who also have a toddler. The long week end went perfectly, with the exception of flat surf, and our only fault was with time flying by far to fast! Can't wait to book in again, aiming for November...

This was our second visit to this hotel and to be honest I didn't think they could better the first time, however, they did!

This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in, the staff are attentive and polite, the facilities are superb and the food faultless.

We had our wedding here in May. Could not fault staff especially Sam who was our wedding coordinator. Our room was lovely and had a beautiful view of Saunton. All in all a very good weekend. The staff all helped to make our day very special and we will definitely return to Saunton.
