Oh Lordy..this hotel. Having been offered a contract to work in Guernsey, this was one of the hotels recommended by my employer. I stayed here when I first arrived with a view to buying a property which I eventually did. However, I remained holed up in this hotel for 6 weeks and "hole" is the appropriate word. I will list the faults as this is easier to do :

1. I stayed top floor (room 7..i think). No hot water and when there was it was very limited.
2. Rude and stroppy Portuguese woman who cleaned the room and had a bad bad attitude.
3. Breakfasts - coronary enhancing grease with a bit of sausage served up by non-englissh speaking latvians.
4. Alcoholic receptionist.
5. Drunken noisy and fight outsidemy hotel room each weekend.
6. Rattlling windows all night long..
7. Bed linen that was stained.

the list goes on and on. So glad when I got out of there but angry that I had to pay for the experience.

Very disappointing. Room poorly furnished; bedlinen not changed since last occupant. bathroom awful - mould on tiles; antiquated loo; nothing matched - room had small corner window looking onto an alley; for half-board we got horrible food- obviously pre-pack and heated in microwave; hardly a change thru week; had to abandon completely and seek elsewhere on three occasions- staff excellent and try very hard to please; hence the one star. They cannot work miracles with poor material and mean owners.

We were here for two nights and had a small but clean room. The bathroom was great with an excellent shower.
However, the majority of the staff were not so great.
We were ignored at breakfast until our waiter returned from having a fag and the music was terrible. Jimi Hendrix is not compatible with early morning digestion.
The receptionist was very busy flirting with her colleague and regarded us as something of a nuisance.
It is centrally located but gave the overall impression of poor management and unmotivated staff.
The girls who cleaned were very friendly and polite.
I wouldn't stay here again or recommend to anyone else

I have to agree with the first review, the rooms are in need of refurbishment and the spiral staircase could prove tricky, What made our stay of 7nights so enjoyable was the staff who were excellent, every member was so helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome, The food in the Brasserie was excellent , the menu was different every evening. The car parking never proved any problems may be we we're just lucky??, The location was ideal with a very short walk to the habour.Overall a very enjoyable stay...
