“Private charter to Carteret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We booked a return trip from Guernsey to Carteret with RibVoyages. The day was excellent and we have nothing but praise for our captain's (Pierre's) knowledge/expertise and friendly attitude. We will definitely be using Pierre again.

“The Must See Guernsey Attraction.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

I recently booked a trip on the Island Rib Voyage via its very easy to use website. This was for a group of friends but could easily be booked for corporate groups, families or just about anyone else. We arrived via instructions 15 minutes before our scheduled Herm Explorer Trip. This was so we had time to get kitted out in our waterproofs and life jackets that were provided by them for the trip. This was followed by a short walk to the Albert pier to climb aboard the Rib Boat. Our journey time took in a few sights around Herm and Jethou islands that many don't ever get to see. Our first stop was to see Brehon tower to learn a bit of history about the place. This was followed by the highlight of the tour. A trip to the seal colony where around 6-7 Grey Atlantic Seals were out posing for us. The Trip was great fun and I would recomend to everyone.

“Badly organised”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

On a recent trip to Guernsey we had read about the Island Rib Voyage trips and were very keen to book one. The owner was originally very helpful in trying to find space for us during the time we had in Guernsey. We went for the Herm Explorer for 10 o'clock the following morning. He said the minimum number of people required to run a trip was 6 and he was reasonably confident that another 4 people would book so we paid our money in advance (£58 for 2 people). On Sunday morning we left our accommodation at 9:30 to make it down to the kiosk by 9:45 as requested. The kiosk was closed. We waited for half an hour and eventually at 10:15 we gave up and walked back to our accommodation. We found that a text message had been sent to us at 9:37 saying "trip cancelled due to lack of interest". There was no mention of refunding our money. We then had to take it upon ourselves to phone the company. We spoke to the owner and asked how we were going to be reimbursed. He had forgotten we had paid him (the day before)! We arranged to meet him at 12 o'clock at the kiosk to be reimbursed. We had to walk back into town to do this. He wasn't even there and left a young member of staff to deal with us. We never found out what the actual trip was like but we would advise other travellers to be aware this company is badly organised.

“Brilliant trip, a must do.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2011 via mobile

Went out this afternoon on the Herm explorer tour. We really enjoyed the fast bits, but also the bits where you get a chance to see the wildlife up close. We got to see puffins, seals and other birds great views towards Guernsey, Sark and Herm. Brilliant trip, a must do when visiting Guernsey and the weather is fine.

“Brilliant - do not miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011

I found Island RIB Voyages when searching the internet for things to do in Guernsey. They offer various trips in a rigid inflatable boat, and enable you to see wild life around the coast from a sea level point of view. Being a small craft you can get close to the cliffs and shoreline. It looked exciting, and didn't disappoint!

The booking kiosk is next to the bus terminus in St Peter Port. We made enquires and chose the Herm Explorer trip, later the same day.

Waterproofs and life jackets are supplied, and they certainly kept us warm and dry. Sarah, who mans the kiosk, was also our guide. She advised us, on boarding the craft, that the front tends to be more bouncy, but the back can get wet due to spray. We opted for the back, and actually remained totally dry.

Our trip to Herm included several stops to observe sea birds and seals. We were really excited to see the puffins. Sarah was excellent - very knowledgable and happy to take questions. She even passed around binoculars for a better view.

Sadly, all too soon our trip was over, and we were back in St Peter Port. It was a such a thrill to go out with Island RIB Voyages, and something I will always remember!
