Have just returned from a short break package and can not fault the hotel, the package deal included hire car, free bubbly on arrival and the food was of the highest quality. The staff were friendly and the service at meals times very efficient. The hotel was so busy (a good sign) i.e. no rooms in the main building, that we were offered the self catering accomodation, although slightly apprehensive when booking it turned out to absolutely A1, clean,high standards of furnishing, and very spacious. It was fully serviced each day. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is clean with friendly staff although the restaurant manager tended to be a little formal but this was due to his professionalism and could sometimes be a little amusing if things wern't going quite right.

A nice pool area but a little limited in space if a significant number of guests stayed in.

Did not use the restaurant much but when we did the food was excellent and particularly good value for money if using the "early bird" facilty.

The hotel is a little isolated and a hire car is recommended as although there is a bus stop outside the hotel the last bus from St Peter Port is very early.

The downside of the stay was that the window of the room we were in opened directly on to the kitchen extractor fan which precluded having the window open as this was both noisy and smelly. The plumbing for the other rooms on the corridor was very noisy ealy morning and late night.

Would stay again but would request a room in another part of the hotel.

Stayed here for 1 night on business this week and could not fault the hotel at all. The room was 'traditional' but spotlessly clean and tidy and all staff that we encoutered were friendly, polite and helpful.

We ate from the 3 course table d'hote menu which I think was £19.50 per head. Absolutely wonderful food and service made it excellent value for money.

I would definately stay here on a future visit.

I had a 4 night break here in Oct/Nov 2007, staying with my mother. It was my second stay at the hotel, her seventh! We got an excellent deal - 4 nights B&B for the price of 3, no single supplements and a free bottle of bubbly EACH! The 4 course dinner cost us £16 each per night and the standard of food was absolutely excellent. I am not a meat eater but there were always delicious fish and veggie options for both starters and mains. The staff at the hotel are superb, very professional and helpful. The breakfasts are also excellent - all the hot food is freshly cooked for you - very important I reckon - I hate hot buffet breakfasts.
We hired a car which was a good deal although I think I might try the efficient bus service next time. The trip was no doubt helped by splendid weather. We had a day on Herm and walked right round the island on the cliff path. It could have been Summer but it was 31 October.
The hotel is very well placed for the South Coast of Guernsey - my favourite part - sheltered south-facing bays but steep descents. Our rooms both had lovely new bathrooms but were a little tired in their decoration. But they were clean, spacious and comfortable. This is a great hotel and a beautiful island. I'm already planning my next trip!
