“A really good restaurant”

A really nice place in the centre of St Helier.
Fine food, great service and to finish off, a superb zabaglione.

“WOW!! What service and tasty food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

Really what a gem to find after driving around the narrow streets looking for this place.

They make you feel very welcome, take your drinks order and leave the specials blackboard with you.

The service is second to none, always friendly never obtrusive. They make recommendations, they offer help.

The food is fresh and tasty as had the fresh seafood and the wife had her pasta so she was happy to spend her birthday here. They even brought out to her a desert with a candle and then offered the "18" hat and let us pose for photographs.

Not sure if its an uncle and nephew or father and son place so asked and the banter really took off from there with many smiles!

Many thanks to the team, you made the day and you allowed us to round off the birthday evening with such a sparkle that its a pity that you cant get this sort or level of service here in London.

Highly recommended and we will definitely be back when next in Jersey. Thanks guys.

“Basil Fawlty is alive and well”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014 via mobile

First up, the food is good and there is a wide choice, we went twice in one week. However, on our second visit all three waiters spent most of their time fawning over a couple at the corner table. Reminded me of three Basils on full charm offensive with some local notable. Tough on the plebs also there to dine. Service at best was economic. Would not go again!

“Well worth a visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014 via mobile

A lovely warm greeting awaited us. As always the food was tasty with a huge variety to choose from. Staff were attentive and friendly. Always a pleasure to pay a return visit. See you all in August on our next trip to Jersey.

“Excellent food, good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

We tried to eat here one Friday evening in the week we visited Jersey but they were packed out, and very busy with lots of hustle and bustle, so we popped back on the Saturday lunchtime, and it was nice to see that the proprietor recognised us and welcomed us.
We're a family of 5 with three boys who like to eat. We weren't disappointed. There was loads of choice and no one had trouble finding something they liked.
My youngest has taken a liking to Calzone pizza which is not on the menu - no problem, they made him one anyway! and it came with a side of sauce as you often get to make it moist.
There were several dozen specials and I had trouble narrowing it down. I settled for a garlic and chilli with cream linguini with prawns. This was meant to be a smaller dish but I asked for it to be up scaled to a main.
Service was attentive but as always we needed more time to decide, and they were happy to come back. Admittedly it was only 50% full on a Sat lunchtime.
Garlic bread pizza to start was hot and delicious. Pizza bases about the size of pizza express so plenty big enough.
Drinks were in cans, with a glass of course..... A bit basic perhaps but then you know the coke will be nice and fizzy.
When the food arrived it was huge - specifically the pasta - and piping hot in a way that you only get in a good Italian restaurant. The chilli prawn linguini had a kick but was not OTT and was awesome. I could eat it now!
The boys cleaned their plates.
We stuck to pizza and pasta to keep costs down a bit but i was very impressed with the bill. In Pizza express we can easily spend £75-80. The bill HERE was £68. If we had not been going home the same day we would have returned.
Decor is simple but nice enough. I didn't use them but the boys said that the toilets were a bit small.
If you are looking for a posh restaurant with dim lighting, then this is not it. If you want a really decent pasta meal with friendly service and good value then this is spot on. I hope you enjoy it too.
