“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

Stayed with a friend at beginning of July. Very helpful, professional and friendly reception staff. Very well run restaurant with excellent service, especially from Patricia and Miguel who looked after us so well. The hotel is friendly, cosy, extremely clean and deserves to be more than 2 star. We shared room 113, quite spacious, lots of storage space for two ladies with lots of clothes! Bathroom excellent with wonderful shower! No sea views but centrally located, very near shops and bus station. Public transport is excellent. Lovely garden, cafe and swimming pool make this a very comfortable, relaxed hotel. Excellent service from bar staff too, enjoyed a lovely cocktail most nights. Well done Norfolk Hotel.

Room Tip: Don't expect great views as the hotel centrally located in St. Helier. Twin room 113 was quite...

we have just spent a three night break in the Norfolk Hotel apart from being the one of youngest couples there (no spring chickens ourselves) it was great. The staff are very pleasant and can't do enough for you. The room/bathroom were very clean as was the rest of the hotel, well furnished - a very nice two star hotel. The pool area is surrounded by houses although it didn't stop the older generation throwing out their towels first thing which was amusing.
The breakfast was good and the service excellent, the hotel is well located for the front and the centre of St Helier which are both well within walking distance- all in all, if you are looking for a short break you will struggle to beat the Norfolk.

From the moment we arrived we were made welcome.Reception staff could not have been any more helpful.Dining room staff on the ball our waitress Patrisha was just perfect. The head waiter I think his name was Merka could not do enough for you.Bar staff were also very helpful. We also met some very nice people. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.

We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of June 2014, what a wonderful experience. Every one of the staff were friendly, whatever we asked for was never any trouble. Our room was light and airy and the bed was very comfortable, the towels, were snowy white and really nice and big. Being close to town was a bonus and having a car park was great. I can honestly say that anybody who complains about the Norfolk must really nit pick. We live in Canada and the next we come to visit friends and family we will definitely stay here. Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room when booking, they have a smoking smoking section by the cafe and probably the...

Get the minus's over first. A little dated. Double bed was 4'6". Wifi limited to Bar and Lounge. (But you do get meet interesting people)
Plus's. Initial impression given by reception vey helpful, welcoming and friendly. Room was spotlessly clean and cleaning staff friendly and unobtrusive. Swimming pool on initial look appeared to less than inviting but a closer look shows it is slightly discoloured marble filled with clean treated water. The changing/showers were very clean.
Breakfast was a combination of self service and table waiting. On arrival you need to wait to be seated but with very little delay. Breakfast ranges from a full English to Continental which is regularly replenished. The staff again friendly. With regard to Jersey's parking system, reception sold us tickets to use on use or return bases. As the hotel has it's own car park and is easy walking distance, these were not used.

If you want friendly staff, comfortable rooms with plenty of space and storage, a great location for town, beach and park and all at reasonable cost - then look no further. Spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained (not a chip or a scratch anywhere, despite old-ish fittings) I was pleasantly surprised by my very enjoyable four-night stay. Although catering primarily for the coach-tour market and therefore maybe a little regimented for some taste, I found that, as a single traveller on business, I was made to feel welcome and at home. For the price, the meals are adequate-to-good, though with limited choices, and unadventurous - and in a vast dining room more reminiscent of the 1970s than today's standards - but there is plenty of food, the staff are flexible about timing and I actually enjoyed it. With a mainly elderly clientele the hotel was quiet at night, and seems to attract a lot of repeat custom. Be aware, though, that the free in-room tea and coffee is limited (you can buy extra sachets) and you have to buy shower-gel and shampoo (though soap is included).
