The staff here provide a first class service, which many hotels with more stars could learn from. The desk staff (Lisa et al), the manager Paulo, and the head waiter Joseph are great characters and make you very welcome. Any problems let them know, and they will endeavour to sort them out. The rooms are what you expect for a two star, and the cleaning service every day is excellent. The coffee shop and pool were nice. Didn't eat a meal here other than Breakfast which is ok, nothing special. There are big tour parties who come here and the average age of the guests is pensionable to say the least, which gives a slightly Fawlty Towers atmosphere. There is no air con, and the rooms can get hot at the front. This caused the only niggle as Opening the windows brings street noise, and La Colomberie is a main route into the centre of St Helier which keeps going 24 hours over a weekend. Had to ask to move rooms as I couldn't sleep, and keeping them closed was like being in a sauna. This was done with no hassle, and a room at the back on the ground floor brought quiet and rest. Again the staff were first class sorting this out. Overall a nice hotel, and value for money.
