“Enjoyable week at the Hampshire Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

24th March 2012 to 31st March 2012.
Just returned from a fabulous week in Jersey, weather was fantastic. We stayed at the Hampshire for the first time after having stayed at other Hotels in St Helier over the last few years. We found the Hampshire to be a lovely Hotel. We stayed in a Premier room which was very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be returning to this Hotel.

Our thank to Chris and the hotel team,

What can we say about the Hamilton other than what great team you have! Reception organised flowers and wine in our room on behalf of our friends in the UK. The hotel facilities are just as pictured on their website. The food was excellent – we were spoiled for choice at each meal as there was always more that one dish we wanted to try each evening. The breakfast selection covered all tastes. Especially liked your toasting machine that did the toast perfectly, brown on the first pass through but not dried out to a crisp. All the staff in the restaurant and bar were very attentive, polite and interested in their guests. Reception would always ask if we had had a good day on our return to the hotel and were interested in hearing where we had been and what we’d experienced. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job and they too were always smiling and spoke if we met in the corridor. Thank you too for the good wishes from you all for our wedding anniversary.
All the facilities were clean and well appointed, as was our room. Although we were in a room by the lift it never disturbed us and experienced no noise from other guests.
All in all a wonderful 5 days which turned out to be far more memorable (for all the right reasons) then the quiet break we had envisaged for our 45th

Room Tip: We were in room 7 overlooking the restuarant and did not experience any traffic noise or disturbance...

This is our 5th time to hotel, we find it in spot on location, just a short stroll into the centre. Chris the manager is improving the hotel, the floorboards that use to squeak have now been fixed, the rooms on 2nd floor have all be modernized and look lovely very fresh and modern with uptodate colours, plenty of room for your cloths. All the staff of very friendly, from reception to the nightporter. The food in hotel is fab, plenty of choice for breakfast., now have snacks in the bar area which is great, the bar area is fab and Peter who runs the bar is great, nothing to much trouble and always pleasant. Can't fault this hotel. We think this hotel is much more than a three star. There is also a swiming pool with lovely terrace. We stay here to visit family, will be back soon

Room Tip: All rooms are great

True Hospitality

We stayed at the Hampshire for 3 nights including New Years Eve.
The façade is deceiving as the hotel stretches back to a very bright spacious bar/lounge area and dining room on the ground floor. Our room was surprisingly large, tastefully decorated, with ample space to hang and store our belongings. Tea/Coffee making facilities and the use of a hairdryer were provided. We loved the huge double bed and silky sheets. The well proportioned bathroom was clean and bright. Fluffy towels changed everyday.
Breakfast was cooked to order the first day with a choice of fruit, cereals, juices, croissant and marmalade on the buffet with a toaster for do-it-yourself hot white or brown toast. On the following day’s breakfast was presented on the buffet together with scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans and tasty bacon. I did mention to the Manager that when on holiday I quite like to indulge in Kippers or Smoked haddock for breakfast– he said just give 24 hours notice and it could be arranged. Unfortunately that was the night before we left.
The evening meals including New Years Eve dinner were excellent. Generous portions, I had the tastiest succulent Beef ever. My partner is a bit fussy but was easily accommodated.
Service was attentive but unobtrusive always helpful and friendly from front desk to bar, restaurant and housekeeping. The décor is fresh modern and furnishings comfortable. True hospitality.
When asked locally out and about where we stayed people were genuinely impressed. Being just 10 minutes walk to the centre of St. Helier we visited the museum bars and restaurants and indulged in some retail therapy.
We had a fantastic stay and New Year celebration. Would recommend and definitely go back.

Stayed at the Hampshire Hotel to see in the New year, booked a premier room which was large and comfy, comfortable bed and large modern bathroom.Staff were great and very friendly.Could not fault the food, but drinks from the bar could be a bit cheaper.Idealy placed to explore Jersey yet only a Ten minute walk into the centre of St Helier. The only downside was that the rooms only have blinds(decorative curtains that do not pull across) and the room we had overlooked the rear of a shop which was flood lit and the light came through the slats of the blind.and yes I did have it fully closed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the car park so as not to be distracted by the floodlighting of the near...
