“Peaceful place to stop off for a bite to eat in St Helier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Popped in here with my little girl for a quick lunch. Staff were very friendly. Nice choice on the menu, and good selection for children too. Well worth popping in here for food and a drink if you're busy shopping in St Helier. Worth getting a spot by the window so you can watch all the people milling around below.

“Best family restarant I have visited in a while”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

My husband, daughter and I went to Cafe 1837 last week. The food was fantastic and the childrens meals were great too. They have colouring for the children in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff David and Monica and the manager Lesley were all amazing. They made the whole experience for us all the better. It is lovely to visit a restaurant with fab food and great service. A must visit to all locals and visitors. We look forward to going back soon.
Thanks for a great meal guys. Summer also says thanks for the lolly pop David.x

“Great value, welcoming & child friendly.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We popped in for a bit of afternoon tea with 2 toddlers. The young man serving (dark hair & tattoos) was busy taking an order but made it very clear he'd seen us & came straight over to attend to us once he'd finished serving his guests. We were made to feel welcome immediately & more importantly the children were also welcomed and high chairs offered. Only complaint is that the high hairs were not clean.
We ordered mini afternoon tea which was served promptly & was delicious - scones lovely & warm and chocolate fudge cake to die for.
A very pleasant & relaxed environment. Evident that the staff enjoy working here. We will most definitely return.

“Thoroughly enjoyed our visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

My husband remembers the cafe in Voisins from the 1940's and has good memories of the place so every time we visit Jersey we go there. Seems like the management has changed recently and our past couple of visits have been really enjoyable. The staff are EXCELLENT, really caring and efficient. The food is very good, they do offers and quick lunches for those who are in a hurry. We like a leisurely lunch on our break from shopping but we are not hassled to leave the table. In our opinion this is the best place to go for lunch in St Helier! David was our waiter and we both remembered him from our last visit, what a good waiter he is.
