I don't quite know where to start! I had to come to this hotel as it was the only one available at the time of my booking. (Just one hour beforehand). The website stated there was only one room left and I was lucky to find that as I went to Jersey during the Battle of the Flowers, which is one of the busiest times of the year on the island, so I was a little apprehensive, wondering if I was going to the one room that nobody else wanted. BOY!! How wrong could I be?!
My room was a very large single en-suite, (and I mean large!) brightly decorated, white walls, thick dark black-out curtains, with good sized shower/toilet, good sized wardrobe, double glazing and large windows. In comparison to where I'd just come from, this room was at least 4 times the size of the box I'd just come from. (The story is on my previous review).
When I walked in, the one thing I was upset about was the tea making facilities were not available - but wrong again!! I opened the door on a cupboard and found the tray!! (There was a safe in there too). The phone was a very impressive design! A "digital thingy" which looked very expensive and not the kind of thing you'd expect in a 2 star hotel!!
Considering the hotel was only a 2 star, I loved my "new" room. Peaceful, clean, very bright and modern. Totally unexpected.
Breakfast was as you'd expect - tea or coffee, cereals, cooked breakfast, juices, toast, all freshly prepared.
I cannot fault this hotel. I really can't. The only thing that spoilt it for me (and please don't let this put you off) was the wi-fi was only available in the reception/lounge area. I do like my wi-fi as I like to relax in bed at night and watch my programmes on the iplayer, but of course, I couldn't do this. That was a bit of a bummer but didn't bother me too much.
This was my 5th trip to Jersey and I will definitely be going back to the Mountview again. (And hopefully by then, they woud have done the wi-fi)!! ;-)
I may be wrong, but I did not notice any other entrance then the one I used, however, as soon as you...
