“An overpriced, bump ride”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2011

I guess you can't really expect it to be a smooth ride, but I'd recommend only going one way and then possibly walking back to get a different perspective on scenery from St. Aubin to St. Helier. Alternatively public transit (which is 4x less the price) runs late so there is always that option if you choose to eat dinner in St. Aubin.

The audio wasn't that audible because of the traffic noise all around, but the facts that were audible were interesting, making note of Elizabeth Castle and First Tower. If you have young children I'm sure they would be thrilled with the novelty of riding in a train, but otherwise I would recommend saving that pocket change for something more worthwhile.

“Just go one way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2010

As per previous review, this is overpriced. Its cheaper to just do one way. Our 5 year old was desperate to go on it though, so dropped him and his mum off at one end and drove back to St Helier to pick them up. He was happy with this and it saved a few quid for an ice cream. Maybe the commentary is different both ways, but it just seems a little dull.

“Train”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2010

The train ride was fairly uncomfortable and way over priced, The commentary was quite far behing the actual sites as you had passed it at least a minute before it started telling you about it. Not worth the money.

“Good Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2009

Le Petit Train (or The Little Train) is a road train that runs between St Aubin and St Helier several times a day, 7 days a week. There is a running tour commentary, which is different both ways, so if you get a return ticket, you are not hearing the same information twice. The journet takes about 40 minutes and the scenery is good. My kids thought it was a great adventure.
