“3 Star Hotel with 5 Star Quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

Took my folks there for a three night stay. The rooms have been recently refurbished and are very neat and spacious, and my parents rooms was even better as it had a great sea view.
The staff were extremely attentive and very cheerful and could not seem to do enough for you especially at dinner. Now I have eaten steaks all round the world and to be honesty this place is a little gem, so good we ate the twice. They were cooked to perfection and were a very generous size, I'm surprised this is not published a little more.

In short, the nightly rate is a bargain, the rooms were sound and the steak were excellent and all this was toped of by great staff.

I will stay there again

Many thanks
Sean

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel, we picked it because of the rave reviews found here on Tripadvisor! I have to say we were highly delighted!
We were in room 223 facing the sea, with large balcony doors giving an unrestricted great view of the enormous tidal movement here and the difference between high and low tides was amazing.
Obviously very popular for joggers, walkers and people exercising their dogs, the large expanse of sand and rocks a few hours later became seawater right up to the tidal barrier wall!
A great location, a few minutes bus ride to St Helier and all routes around the island available from there.
The hotel cleanliness, staff and facilities were as good as any I have stayed in over the years whether I have been travelling on business or pleasure. The food was very good and varied in choice, good portions too! All added to a great relaxing holiday location which my wife and I would recomend to anyone, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: Sea view room a must!

Having just returned from this hotel after a four night stay with my father and about 35 other people! I really can't fault it, great location, great food, great staff, great room spotlessly clean (I should know as I work in an hotel) we couldn't have been treated any better. the entertainment on the Monday and Tuesday was very good. The beach is just across the road, as its the main road into St. Helier, it can get very busy at certain times of day! All in all a great stay.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the ground floor if you have difficulty walking, or at least close to the lift.

Having just returned from our first visit to this Hotel, had a very warm welcome when we arrived by both the owner (as we later found out) and recepionist. We were allocated a seaview double room which was very comfortable and was spotlessly cleaned every day. Hotel is in a superb location, only a few metres away from the beach and 50 metres away from a bus stop running in and out of St Hellier on a very regular timetable and on time. Meals in the hotel, we were warmly greeted both at breakfast and dinner (when we ate at the there) by the head waiter, was then greeted by our waiter / waitress rapidly and taking our orders. Menu was limited, but very edible and plenty of it. We will certainly stay at this hotel again and have told lots of our family and friends about the hotel.

Came back on Monday after a week at this hotel. Staff were warm and friendly, very helpful. Surroundings very pleasant, room with a seaview, good quality and very comfortable. Food could have been a bit more imaginative, but very edible and plenty of it. Also very well served. All in all, we had a great time again (this was our second visit), and we will visit again in the future.

Room Tip: You can get a little traffic noise overlooking the bay, but nothing to winge about really.

Having read some recent reviews I can only assume we were really unlucky in our experience with this hotel.
The positives - nice location facing the beach with a regular bus service passing outside the door; good location if you want good transport and a peaceful location and the inner rooms were spacious and quiet. However the rooms were rather 'tired' and the pillows were like bricks.
The negatives - the food!!! Food was average and the menu dated and they somehow managed to serve braised beef that had been so overcooked on the edges the meat texture was like shards of wood. You can order a la carte but you need to give the order in the morning and no allowance is made against the inclusive menu - pretty poor. After the first evening no drinks offered other than water so we had to go to the bar to get any alcohol. The head waiter made a point of ignoring you on entering and leaving the restaurant and whilst his staff were rushed off their feet he seemed unable/unwilling to help out. As I say -perhaps we were unlucky.
