“Clean hotel with friendly staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

This has to be the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are so helpful and can't do enough for you. We only had bed and breakfast so i cant comment on the evening meal but the breakfast was nice especially the poached eggs. I would come here again. Definitely. :-)

Fantastic five night stay here. Got a great family room with a patio overlooking the pool and gardens, really clean and spacious and luggage was taken down the stairs ready for us when our room was ready (three hours earlier than it should have been). Helpful and friendly reception staff, good value for money food. Great location on bus route with the lovely St Brelades bay below. Yes it could do with an update of the decor in some places, but for these prices and service received we had absolutely no complaints.

We've just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with Lesley and the team at the Miramar, returning to the hotel where we spent our honeymoon. We cannot fault the staff, the room with a view (thanks to our daughter) or the general feeling of the hotel. All this, unfortunately, was let down by the evening meals, though to be fair we only tried to eat in the hotel twice in four nights and both times the meal left a little to be desired.

My wife and I have just returned home today (15th sept) after a weeks enjoyable stay at this hotel, our fifth visit to Jersey but our first stay at this particular hotel, and to be perfectly honest if we had known about it 14 years ago when we first came to the island would have come here, it is by far the best place we have stayed. I must have passed it a multitude of times in the car not even knowing it was there, the photos of it on their website do not do it justice as far as we are concerned and the staff were absolutely marvellous, as was the food at dinner may I say, breakfast also. We only ate out once in St. Helier, and that was only for a change of scenery. We found, as I have already said, the staff polite, friendly, VERY prompt and professional in the dining room and would bend over backwards to please their guests, who, it became very apparent, come back here year on year. Our sincere thanks to Leslie and Alison among others for the best stay we have had in Jersey. Sadly cannot come next year, but will definately return. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view would be excellent, I'm sure that they will allocate one if one is availa...

As a very well travelled couple we found this hotel was excellent. Right from the start this 2 star hotel gave 5 star treatment. Arriving too late for dinner due to the ferry having problems and feeling very sick from a rough sea crossing, we were offered soup and/or sandwiches in our room. The room was very clean and spacious. Our room had a picturesque sea view and although not all rooms had a balcony ours did. There was also a lovely swimming pool, that was also kept very clean. I was told by a guest who was a regular there that the hotel had "just had money spent on it", a face lift, new carpets etc. The staff were the some of the best I have come across, friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent and plentyful with a very good choice. The Hotel is situated up quite a steep lane (this didn't bother us,) but there is a bus stop just across the road. Some of the other guests we chatted with at the hotel walked down to the beach and got the bus back. I would certainly go back again and recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Ask upon booking if you want a room overlooking the sea. As far as I could tell only 4 rooms had acc...

This was our first time at the Miramar and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a South facing room on the top floor with a view over the beach and bay. The room was spotless and had ample space for storage of clothes and luggage. The food was very good with plenty of choice and the Staff both on reception and in the dining room were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We met some really nice people and will defintely be returning, hopefully we will get the same weather which was perfect.

Room Tip: We chose a South facing room and was given one on the top floor which we didnt mind but there are a...

This is a very good value hotel which was kept extremely clean. The staff were very friendly and the service in the restaurant in particular was very efficient. For a 2 star hotel the food was very tasty and the portions were a good size (for people with normal appetites!) There was a good choice and the deal we got was very good value as we got free half board. The room was serviced daily, and usually very quickly whilst we were at breakfast, with new towels each day. It is true that the decor is very dated but who really cares when it is clean and you are out and about sightseeing for most of the day. It is situated on a green lane on a hill which is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and steep walk back up! The bathroom is small and the glass shelf above the sink irritating but it does the job and ours looked like it was newly refurbished. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Sea rather than carpark view.
